Good chin. Amazing hand speed, Great Stamina (in his prime), Weird angles, very good head movement.

Thats what has made him so great, as well as a trainer who lets him fight to his strenghts.

Thats about it. Its no shock IMO.

He clearly has or had the raw tools. He just needed someone to sharpen his tools.

a very ignorant post just like when floyd said that pac suddenly became good all of a sudden.

pac would never have beaten a lineal champion in the caliber of sasakul at age 19 if he is not that good to begin with.

he is the rawest great fighter. He had flashes of brilliance but he sucked in his early career. Roach made a HUGE difference in balance and "intelligence" in his movement, he used to be just as likely to run into a huge punch while he was looking for the big left hand.

He put it ALL together for the ledwaba fight, and then went to another level post David Diaz when he became "super elite", but he had flashes of brilliance earlier and a lot of god given intangibles.

He is the worst ATG ever in his youth - knock outs usually go DOWN as your competition gets more elite ----- he started knocking ATG fighters out and being the only one capable of doing it. (Our 126 lb division of the early to mid 2000s is an ATG one). Put a guy who doesn't belong in the ring with Floyd at the beginning of his carrer and they are out of there in 2 rounds. Put an elite fighter in there against Floyd and and its usually a 12 round decision with no knockdowns. Put a bum in with Pac at the beginning of his career and it's a sloppy fight, put him in up two weight classes with Oscar and it's a flawless victory and stoppage.

Most improved fighter ever. You can look at marquez, hopkins, floyd, whitaker, camacho, and jones early in their career and already tell they are champion level fighters. You can look at pac and say, well, he kind of hits hard but he doesn't know how to box. wait until he fights somebody good .... oh.

You don't have to agree with my statement...however when he came to america he trained with Roach who helped him develop an unorthodox style which suited HIM.

Next time if you would like to know something, just ask me to elaborate.

    I bid you good day.

and the sasakul win was a matter of landing a huge punch, in my opinion, which he always had. He was not more skilled than Sasakul then.

I think the combination of PEDs with proper nutrition and training might have been the biggest factor.

Plus, fight selection plays a part.

Clearly against Sasakul, a good boxer himself. Manny was very one dimensional, but very good at what he did. It's not hard to see. You could also see his thai boxing background with the way strikes and punches he throws. Everything in a straight line, not very fluid, but very herky jerky, cagey. Right hand wasn't used as a money shot and depended everthing on his left. Just because he was more basic back then doesn't mean he sucked! He was good enough to blow Ledwaba and embarrass a fading, but nevertheless best featherweight at the time which was Barrera! I'd say it was before Roach. He was good before Roach and became great with Roach.
