Sounds like you can't punch, so you gotta run away all bltch like while the fans boo, and you gotta do some gay **** to get on top instead of letting your hands do the talkin.

Ain't nobody wanna pay for two dudes playin tag.

Boxing is about pleasing fans like any other sport. If you don't please the fans, you don't get paid.

You go to hell for that.

What you find entertaining is subjective though. Everyone likes different styles. But it's ridiculous to expect a pure boxer to abandon what made them successful. They're all in the business of winning fights, and you're right, the best way to win is to hit and not get hit.

hit and not get hit is like amateurish. professional boxing is like the art of war. conquer and avoid much damage for the next battle and for longevity as a champion conqueror. conquering means domination and demolition to prove ones self greater than the opponent. the end goal in conquering is very far from that of hit and not get hit.

Agreed. Professional boxing is a rough, brutal business. The only ones who come out unscathed are guys who fight bums and don't challenge themselves. Even Ray Leonard took a beating.

I grow tired of these puzzy fans who want to watch "the art" of boxing. These damn hipsters making it more than it really is.

Hit and not get hit needs it's own name because it was never meant to be synonymous with boxing. The title boxing has been around much longer than the style known as boxing. It's actually the newest style, which I'm almost sure got it's recognition as boxing when some commentator blurted out "now that's boxing" after being excited from witnessing the skills set on display and it stuck. Boxing is not only about hit and not get hit, that's not even how fights are scored so that should tell you right there. It's about out hurting your opponent, however that's accomplished, which can be done with many different styles.

Thinly veiled "I got the stuffing kicked out of me drunk one night in a dirty London club but I threw a punch therefore I am a boxer" post. Idiot.

    Professional boxing.
    It's a business.
Most of it is fake, just a spectacle.

Fans get to understand that but they bury that thought away so they can watch it and pretend it's pure sport again.
