What do you think is a fair over/under for a young fighter's career earnings, inside the ring? That is, not counting endorsements, or his potential as an announcer our anything like that.

    David Price: 29 Million

I'm probably using the hardest one to start. He could lose to Thompson and then lose to Fury a year from now and wind up with 10-20% of this.

He could also wait for Wlad to fade some and upset him and become a mainstream star (including in the US) and blow this number away.

There are a lot of scenarios in between. A lot if it depends on what Wlad does, particularly how long he hangs around. But Price is English, has a bit of charisma and a lot of likability, is white, a HW and most important of all, produces big knockouts. If he has any kind of run as a semi-legit champ, I think he'll make a ton. Certainly more than Haye.

I don't know that much about the business side of boxing, to be honest, but that's my best guess to get the ball rolling.

I wish I knew enough about purses and what cut they make of it to be able to go along with this... Even publicized numbers aren't accurate.

I think if you set it @ 1million in total purses that 99% of all pro boxers would be hitting the under.

Most boxers don't make **** in their careers.. and even with what they do take as a purse you have to pay trainers, corner-men, promoter, manager, training costs, taxes, travel, etc.

People tend to think that 7 figure paydays are common, and they couldn't be farther from the truth.

For the sake of relativity, Ortiz made 2.5 mil against Floyd. His previous career high was 650 thousand against Berto.

Price won't get anywhere near 29 million, he might get about a sixth of that.

Im not sure about this but i was watching some canadian champs, and steve molitor as he was champ was making about 100k per title defense and it went up about 10k everytime he fought and defended his belt. His unification bout with cabalero i think he made 400k.

Lucian bute first started with 100k as well when he became champ and before his loss to froch i think he was making about over 500k per fight.

Unless your PPV star, even if you are champion, you arent making them millions per fight
