http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/may/04/setanta-sports-rights-broadcasting noooooo in the words of the commentator on Graham vs Jackson "thats what we were worried about" we're stuffed if setanta go under
Dawson vs. Tarver Rogan vs. Sexton Berto vs. Urango Cotto vs. Clottey Klitschko vs. Haye Pavlik vs. Mora Mayweather vs. Marquez ... will all be missed! We'll get the Khan fight, and that's it.
don't forget Arthur, the amazing Alex Arthur!! no!!!!!!!!! you mean We're gonna miss out on the guy who chased Joan Guzman out of the super featherweight division just cos Setanta cant keep their book right? (((( ok joke over, thats a shame, i hope to god its not before PBF vs Marquez bout, cos there's a lot of quality out there, and i def dont wanna be watching it on a crappy online stream
i reckon another station would pick up the fight. its not like its happening at 3am plus its for the hw title
Reading the article, Boxing is going to lose out no matter what. If it survives, Setanta is going to focus on the top end of its market (Football, IPL and Golf) and cut down the middle market (Boxing); filling it with more cheap fringe sports. If it goes under at least we will save some money, and SKY will pick up more, as it will cost less. Football will be picked up by ITV, BBC and SKY and SKY also has a huge gap in its schedule to welcome back the USPGA. I see little point as a a boxing fan, worrying about Setanta.
It's all scare tactics lads. Don't worry all the owners have to do is go back to their roots and rip off some pensioner with their door to door drive tarmacing.
Yeah but who's gonna pick up the likes of JMM vs Juan Diaz or Cotto vs Margo? ... not Sky Sports, that's for damn sure.
Whatever happened to sky picking up fights anyway? Loved coming in on a sat night, pissed and trying to concentrate on the analysis then watching Floyd, Winky, Oscar, Mosley, Cotto etc etc
If Setanta cut back big on the boxing then they can kiss my subscription goodbye. I only get it for the boxing.
If you pay by direct debit just cancel it because they're very difficult to cancel with and they'll try all sorts of tricks and even charge you an extra month. The company are corrupt as **** I'm not surprised they're on the verge of going under.
