its really annoying the lack of options in terms of TV networks and radio stations in this country, if Terestrial and sky don't cover it then most likely won't be televised. there's definitely space for setanta and i hope they somehow survive
talksport is garbage it really should be called talkfootball and anytime they stray from football then they'll rather talk fishing or toe wrestling then the sweet science
I've no doubt that the big fights with British fighters would be picked up elsewhere and Setanta's coverage of british fighters isn't great. What would be the biggest loss would be the overseas live fights - particularly from Top Rank that i can't see being picked up.
just imagine....Cotto/Judah, cotto/mosley, mosley/margarito, margarito/cotto, marquez/pacquiao 2, marquez/diaz, pavlik/taylor 2, pavlik/hopkins, tito/RJJ, vargas/mayorga, dawson/johnson, tarver/dawson 1, clottey/judah and many fighters like calderon, darchinyan, donaire and many more would not be televised as sky doesn't give a rats arse about those fights
Correct. And there wouldn't even be World of Sport with Dickie Davies to have highlights on (and not just in his hair).
Some people like to watch the spl,i like to watch the German games as well.It would be a shame for a lot of sports fans if setanta went down.Im not a massive football fan but i do like to watch the odd game and think the English prem is **** so setanta showing something different is a good thing.Boxing will suffer big time without setanta.
Wrong, SKY WOULD show these fights but Setnata had a deal with Top Rank to have exclusive UK rights. Before the deal they were paying over the odds for the rights and SKY aren't stupid, hence the reason we're not talking about the possibility of a demise at SKY.
For those with an interest here is an excellent examination of the Setanta Business model which has (it seems)proved quite prescient http://telebusillis.blogspot.com/2007/09/setanta-squandered-opportunity.html
