Wasn't really scoring it but I thought Chavez nicked it by a round or so. If Chavez develops a good jab he could be a dangerous fighter, not world class but a good contender.

i liked his left hook to the body and his right uppercut but like you say he was lacking a jab. I also thought his defence needs tightening up.

as for the commentaters saying that he is continuing his families legacy that is bs, Chavez Sr is 100x better.

and the 4 people shouting at him in the corner taht was funny

They need to let him be his own fighter and not try and make him like his father. I agree that his defence needs tightening. Cuello was catching him with a lot of body shots just cos his elbows weren't tucked in.

I dont think he tried to copy his dad, he didnt assert intelligent pressure he mainly boxed off the back foot and didnt use his jab to set up attack like his father.

The main problem with his defence up close was that he didnt protect his head and got caught over the top, he tended to smother the body shots up close but he took big head shots. But it wouldnt harm him to tuck the elbows in. He should have been cautioned about it for pushing with the elbow.

However, i think his long left hook was better than his dads

what did you think of the girl commentater, i found her quite annoying

Anyone else think that the long left hook to the body that they were praising at the start of the fight is gonna get Chavez in a **** load of trouble later in his career?

He's just begging to get clocked by leaving such a gaping hole in his defence every time he throws it. He hooks well enough close up; his team should probably try and get him to stop the long rang body shot.

I think he pulls it off pretty well but yeah after thinking about it he should do it less oftem as it is a dangerous punch all it takes is a clever guy with power to cover up set forward while throwing a staright right and Badda Bing hes gone
