You know, I like Seth Mitchell. I made a thread here before the fight predicting he would win and telling everyone he's the best American up-and-comer.

Here it is: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=366203

But you using Mitchell to prove your racist theory of athletic superiority can only dampen peoples' enthusiasm about him.

Look there are

active American heavyweights, and still at least ten times as many boxing gyms here as in any other country. Link here:

http://boxrec.com/ratings.php?country=US&sex=m&division=Heavyweight&status=A&SUBMIT=Go

There are only
This content is protected
Ukranian heavyweights. Link here:

http://boxrec.com/ratings.php?country=RU&sex=m&division=Heavyweight&status=A&SUBMIT=Go

Yet somehow the two best heavyweights in the world are Ukrainians?

There are only

Russian heavyweights. Link here:

Yet Povetkin is ranked just behind the Klitschkos and he's beaten every American he's fought!

There are more opportunities in the USA for more big men to learn boxing than in other countries. Very few people in European countries go into boxing.

you detect racism in his posts in this thread? because all I see is a guy who's perplexed by the fact that a former football player took out a seasoned fight veteran, and that's where it ends. where's the racism?

I'm not sure why you think 10 is a magical number. I'm also not sure why you think a one-year layoff is an excuse against a guy who has only been boxing for 5 years and has catastrophically broken knees.

where can I read about my racist theory of athletic superiority? Is it on Amazon?

You're the only person to have mentioned race on this thread. This is more revealing about you that you realize.

You seem to be all about the shot knees....Vitali seems to do well on his shot knees. Let's see how Solis is on his shot knees.

Football knees and requirements are a bit different. This man has had top of the line work done on his knees. It's not that big of an issue really.

first off its heavyweight so the knees are not as big of an issue its not like he is at lightweight plus whens the last time he hurt his knee? 5 yrs ago?

second the guy has power and that can carry a career even if the boxing is nowhere near the power

plus an old foe who comes out cold and plays into your power it happens in boxing, punchers beating better fighters it happens

Purrity stopped Klitschko did this mean the division was weak then??

and to the bold point at 37 a whole yr off is a pretty big deal

I think your over thinking this one fight a little

Mitchell would easily annihilate Zbikowski.

Not any late-starting football player can become a good HW boxer.

Tommy sucks. Seth has promise.

Purrity was an experienced professional boxer. Seth Mitchell is a complete novice.

I've seen that kind of garbage he's posting 1000 times before and I hate it.

What he's trying to prove is the usual racist theory that "the heavyweight division has no talent because the top fighters are white now and white people are an athletically inferior race".

Seth Mitchell is further proof of this racist theory to him. He's saying even a crippled football player can quickly learn boxing and beat up all the athletically inferior white bums because he beat the great Timur.

But in reality, the feather-fisted, faded, inactive, soft-looking Ibragimov isn't so great at all. He wasn't very good even in his prime, and lost every time he fought a decent opponent like Thompson or Brock, who were both KOed by Wladimir Klitschko.

With all the Cubans, Russians, Ukrainians, etc. I think we have a deep era of HW talent. The only bad thing is that the top 2 are brothers. If not, we'd have had at least a couple good bouts from them. And then we'd have had only 1 champ. More contender fights.

Every era that was not really World competition could have benfitted from Eastern competition. There are lots of good talents today at HW but because of the dual +1 champ model, and the lack of incentive to fight eachother being reinforced by the champs choosing guys who never should have got the fights, nobody is f'n fighting.

We get guys beating Sam Sexton and then signing. Guys who lose twice in a row signing. Guys who have beaten maybe 1 good fighter signing. Lots of CW's signing. Guys who beat Rob Calloway get signed. Guys that quit on stools get signed and resigned.

The division is stronger than the Klitschko's management. Their cheap ways and the WBA being a bunch of twats is the problem. Nobody wants to fight the fights that should be happening to build solid contenders and accomplished challenegers...because nobody has had to. Look at the **** Goosen just pulled on the IBF tourney. Thompson walks over and in. Don't even have to fight the next available guy down the list. That is our problem.

fair enough, but if Seth Mitchell beats any more contenders then I will be revisiting this thread to contemplate what it all means for the era. It can't mean anything good.

Jason Pierre Paul started playing football in 1997 and is a star pro in the sport, probably going to a Pro Bowl in 2011.
