Agreed. Many posters in that night's RBR suggested Mitchell should hire Banks as a trainer. He is just that much more versed as a fighter.

I agree. I watched the fight after I'd read the posts on here and was expecting to see something very different. Mitchell was ok, a bit loose but not terrible.

He got caught, and rather than holding tried to blast his way out of trouble with some pretty wild punching. It didn't work.

It happens to guys learning as they go.

I would think he learnt far more in that loss than just keep blasting out cans. People give too much of a **** about losses IMO. 1 or 2 for a guy on the way up with no amateur record isn't the end of the world.

Banks is no mug. Mitchell pushed himself and lost.
And now he wants another crack. Good on him I say.

I think Mitchell SHOULD rematch Banks and I think if he fights a little differently, he can win the rematch.

Basically sums it up. Although I do think he could stop Banks in a rematch, really a 50/50 fight. Whoever lands first! lol

This. He has good power and decent combos and ok handspeed so why rush for the ko, it would actually be weird seein Mitchell fight patiently and not press the attack straight away but its what he has to do now unless he wants to get koed
He could be a decent counter puncher if he converts right

There are questions just as much about Banks.

Will he take a more aggressive tack, with the confidence from the first fight? Banks is experienced but he might feel he can blow Mitchell out now. That could play into Mitchell's hands.

On the other hand, if he does the same gameplan as the first fight, that doesn't guarantee the same result. It might be the smarter plan but it's also a plan that's been seen.

Quite an interesting rematch, really. I think this is a brave move from Team Mitchell to try to get the immediate revenge.

Maybe he won't beat Banks, but give him credit where it's due. It takes guts to climb back into the ring against a guy who just knocked your block off.

Very, very true. I'm not confident about Mitchell winning (at all) but it's not a 100% dead cert. that Banks will either. It could be an entirely different fight the next time.

Good post.....but let's not forget that Grant also took several yrs to recover to what he has become today.
I mean he was top 5 in world when Lewis KOd him, and only in the last 2 yrs or so has he crept back into the top 30 and he's also a lifetime fighter, Mitchell is a football player turned fighter.

I like Mitchell, and if he continues, Ill continue supporting him. I hope his career is better than Grants was, but Im not holding my breath.

A rematch is not too risky here, and he'll likely win it. But he needs to take style fights that he can win while at the same time, maintaining a certain level of relevance.:think
