Pretty certain more than a few said that about Purrity. He's nowhere near the top, so if Wlad can't get past him with ease, he should be wrote off.

Pretty certain nobody was expecting Sanders to do what he done that night in 02. And I'm fair sure Sanders ranking was pretty close to Banks rating btween 15-25.:think

Anyways.....this is definitely a step way up for Banks. He's done what he's needed to to beat the likes of the Firthas and the Gaverns, and somehow he managed to KO Walker.
Mitchell is a much quicker, but less defensive version of Walker. Power is likely close, so Banks certainly COULD pull this upset.

Hard to predict, but I'll take Mitchell and the under. Mainly b/c I think Banks is gonna try to set traps for Mitchell to miss with the R hand. Problem is, Mitchell has power in both hands, and Banks is gonna have to take some huge shots at some point. And we all have witnessed his finishing ability.

You sure? I see more hate for Seth coming from Brittards as anyone else.
He's actually the most exciting American HW prospect at the moment, and I see him spark Fury inside a couple of rounds.

I'm pulling for Mitchell here. Banks could make life tough for him, unless he's brushed up that defense big time.

:roflBanks is a very defensive fighter. He's a CPer to the fullest. Hell, he didn't even bring the fight to Gavern or Firtha.:think

Yeah, he was very tentative against Firtha.

Yeah but how will it affect him.

Will it be like Buster Douglas? (His mother died whilst he was in training to fight Tyson)

I'm british and i like Mitchell he's alot better than Wilder thats for sure, I like Banks too loved his KO over Travis Walker, Banks could pull off an upset but my money is on a mid rounds stoppage win by Mitchell.

Mitchell will probably smoke Banks in two or three rounds. He's quicker, far stronger, and more aggressive. Against guys who can't elude him, Mitchell has the destructive force of a trash compactor.

I don't think Banks is good enough a a boxer to elude Mitchell for long. Certainly Banks cannot hold his own on the inside. He lacks the strength and durability.

Banks could get lucky with a right hand, particulary if he catches Mitchell cold. Mitchell has serious problems with defense: he's especially vulnerable to rights. But Banks tends to hold back. Will he feel comfortable unleashing the big rights?

I've heard from my Euro friends that Banks has not looked good in his most recent fights. Allegedly he's not getting better...he may be burning out.

Word is that Banks does not like getting hit. That's a bad sign against a dude who has a shotgun left jab and a bazooka right.

I feel that Mitchell might be a KO waiting to happen

but i think he can beat Banks

I will tell you i was impressed by Mitchell's recuperation, body attack and left hook

he also has a very powerful looking jab

I feel though that Witherspoon could have won if he elected to box and not trade

I agree with you that Seth will be in big trouble against many top contenders. KO waiting to happen. I also agree that Banks is not the guy to get the job done.

I wonder why Witherspoon and Ibragimov didn't box and move more, just to take the fight into the later rounds. It's possible that Mitchell's footwork is fast enough to catch these running dudes. Just maybe.

    Hard to say.
