Let's give Mitchell a little bit of credit for that abandonment. From even the first round he started landing some serious body shots and it was partly responsible for Witherspoon's standing with him, as he landed more and more. He was stunning him out of movement with those, I think. Bombs to the body may not be eye-catching, but they are bombs and I don't think their effect is getting appreciated in this one.

The most precise description I have read about Seth Mitchell.

He is not that bad, but unfortunately he is not really that good either. He would be decapitated by the K-bros.

Franklin Lawrence would be a nice step up and a realistic matchup for him at this point in his career. There would also be some hardware up for grabs. Estrada would also be acceptable...

Which would make it tougher for him to get a shot. When Vitali is gone Wlad gets all the best challengers

Fans shouldn't be connecting Mitchell with the Klitschkos yet. It's quite obvious that he's not ready. He's a novice as a pro and only had 10 amateur fights. He's as green as someone like Chisora, who has had around 30 fights as both a pro and amateur. There is no point in rushing these guys before they're anywhere near matured enough for a world title shot. If the Klitschkos ever mention Mitchell or call him out, then they deserve criticism for that too.

This is the problem with a weak era in boxing. You get guys who are shot getting title fights, like Rahman, Mormeck and Briggs, and you get guys who are nowhere near their prime getting title fights, like Chisora, Solis and Johnson. It makes things even worse because the guys who could be world champions, get slaughtered before they should be anywhere near a world title and they never develop into the fighters they could be.

Just imagine how disastrous it would have been if Wlad was pushed into a world title fight when he was a prospect in 1998. If there were no good challengers for Lewis, and there was a highly touted, unbeaten gold medallist making some noise and he got a world title shot, what would have happened? Wlad wouldn't be around now because Lewis would have ended his career had they fought in 1998.

The "separate but not equal" GBP HW circuit will be like the old Don King HW circuit. They're just waiting for Vitali to vacate so they can have their own league title.

Wlad should fight Arreola then after Thompson. Could be a decent scrap for a couple rounds.
