Last time I watched I had it to John by 1 I think, calls of a robbery were a bit unfounded in my opinion, though the scorecards were far too wide.

 

John was awful IMO. He never clearly bested Marquez in a single round as far as I saw it.....

 

Other than the 5th Marquez didnt have a great round & left plently of room for doubt in the judges minds.

 

As I say, I haven't watched it in quite a while, but I remember thinking that John won it close'n'clear. Perhaps it's not viewed as a ''robbery'' anymore, but I remember when the full fight wasn't on YouTube and it was merely a few rounds scattered here and there, all of which just happened to be all of Marquez's best rounds. I don't remember JMM being all that superior to John tbh.

Might watch it later though.

I thought they were both as bad as eachother, neither did enough to clearly take the fight.

 

I don't disagree with what you fellas are saying, Marquez hardly took the fight by the balls, but I thought he just about did enough to win the rounds he did. In a couple you can count the number of punches John landed on one hand, and although Marquez was hardly landing at will he was doing that little bit more, and noticeably for me.

 

Yeah it is good Ant', I had one of 'em a clear winner, but a good action fight and interesting clash of styles.

Marquez often doesnt take close fights by the balls as I see it, its one of the few criticisms I could level at him.

 

Time for another one me thinks, Bellew-Cleverly may be a little fresh in memory but might be worth while now dust has settled.

 

As posted in the other thread, i had Clev - Bellew 6-5-1 to the liverpudlian. Although I cant find my actual round by round scorecard, i'm certain i had Bellew 4-1 up after 5
