Several boxing links and sources scored it for Devon Alexander!

I don't care what yahoo espn or anybody else has to say. They are human beings who have biases & make mistakes. I scored the fight for kotelnik 7-5. He landed the cleaner more effective punces in most rounds. Alexander was busier, but to no affect. & i never saw a head butt either. If you score a fight on being more active, most counter punchers wouln't have a chance at winning a fight.

 

So I guess King's millions bought off all these sports sites that scored the fight for Devon as well?atsch

Unfortunately, you're right about Kotelnik being an afterthought- it is the reality of the situation, and the sooner everyone forgets about Kotelnik, the sooner HBO can get back to building their superfight with 2 unbeaten, exciting fighters.

The worst thing Alexander can do is believe the bolded part and start buying his own hype, but the way the media's all over his nuts, I don't think he's going to be able to. He's been deluded into thinking he's better than he actually is.

Regardless of how the fight was scored, the Kotelnik fight was a warning sign; if he ignores his struggles now because he's got the W and makes the Bradley fight for January, Tim's going to destroy him.

Thats incorrect, whether you like compu box or not, they show kotelnik outlanded devon overall, he outlanded him in 7 out of 12 rounds and in the rounds that kotelnik did take on the compu box stats he took them by a clearer margin. Alexander had a less than 20% connect ratio which tells you his was missing a LOT and even that 18% seems generous to me after watching it. Alexander had no real game plan while his opponent did.

Look at the crowd reaction, ill bet you the majority of the st louis crowd knew their guy lost that one, they were mighty quite and reacted mostly when kotelnik landed on alexander and the occasional flurry devon had which it has to be said mostly missed.

Landing shots on gloves and arms is no good and thats what devon did most of the night, no way did he win that fight, no chance at all. Even if he was fighting in a neutral venue he would have gone down to a wide UD imo

 

This was a close fight Alexander threw alot more punches, and Kotelnik was alot more acurate. Props to Alexander for not holding unless he realy had to, and for not just running around. I think acurate effective punches beat quantity and Kotelnik's punches were taking their toll on Alexander at the end. IMO Kotelnik had the edge on Alexander at the end of the fight, but oh well now he knows how Maidana felt when they fought in europe.

 

He wasn't holding because Alexander couldn't fight inside versus Kotelnik. The only way he could keep Kotelnik off him was by thowing punches constantly. Kotelnik's corner was like, that boy can't ****ing fight inside lol. I'm not really criticizing what you wrote just adding to it.

 

Everyone knows that Kotelnik lost because he doesn't grunt when he punches... duh!

 

I have to laugh at the posters that call this decision a robbery. It was clear cut. I gave Devon 9 out of 12 rounds and the only rounds I did not give him are the 3 rounds he seemed to take off. This was not even a close fight.
