When rogan had him against the ropes he spit his gumsheild out but Rogie gave him a few seconds but the cheating **** start hitting him back whilst Rogie gave him time to compose himself . The ref should have stopped it on numerous occasions , that type of fight would turn me off boxing what a ****ing disgrace to the sport that was , i feel so sorry for Rogan , if there is no rematch then i can understand why boxing is not a main sream sport
Thought Sexton made it clear that he is moving on and has no intention of fighting Rogie again.... pity that there aint a rule that when the Doctor stops the fight there should be a re-match.... I thought that it might have been in the contracts too??:think:think
if rogie dosent get the rematch that he deserves that will turn me off the sport for the rest of my life what a ****ing shambles
I wouldn't feel that sorry for Rogan, he got outboxed and looked very limited for most of the fight, but had a real good go and came so close to finishing Sexton despite fighting with one eye. I'm sure when he looks at it again he'll be pissed off with that he didn't smash Sexton to the canvass to leave it in no doubt. He'll still have good fights at that level ahead of him though the way he fights. I can't see how how that type of fight would put you off boxing though, unless you were only watching it for one outcome. I wasn't fussed who won and thought it was magic :good
Don't turn your back on the sport for that mate... it happens all the time... if you want to watch something that made me probably feel the same as you tonight watch Mikey Brodie v Willie Jorrin and wonder WTF the judges were watching that night.....atschatschatsch
The way i look at it is Rogie had the chance to seiously hurt Sexton and said to himself no he could have killed him the way Sexton left his hands down , the ref ****ed up imo and if he dosent get a rematch thats a disgrace . The likes of Rogan dont deserve that , Sexton cheated his way to victory and if that gets applauded well i tell you boxing is a disgrace
I couldn't agree more, Sexton should have little satsifaction with that win and that referee should never set foot in a ring again. Even in defeat Rogan is such a decent guy and he should get a rematch asap.
It don't get applauded... tonight is one of many contravertial debates that will always come from boxing....... you don't get what you deserve in boxing.... you get what you negotiate!!!.... I am suprised it was not in the contracts for a re-match :deal I don't think that Sexton will be in a rush to want to fight Rogie again. I love the spirit of Rogie but tonight he lacked 2 things that would have allowed him to win this fight... 1. His lack of experience at the Championship level :-( 2. His inability to finish his man... that links into point 1 :-( One of the best fights I have seen in years was Rogie v Skelton.. I had the pleasure of being in a decent seat in Birmingham to watch that fight.. :happy:happy:happy
i agree his lack of expeience let him down but come on Sexton was out on his feet and could have been seriously hurt , ala Barry McGuigan , i dont think any fighter is in the business of hurting another fighter long term and thats what could of happened and probably would have happened had Rogan clocked him one , im disgusted , if i was Sexton i would have handed Rogie the belt myself ****in shameful
I have to disagree with you on that... although I can see your point... If Sexton was going... Rogie should have made him go.... no room for sentiment in this business...Sexton was out on his feet and it was Rogie's job to make sure it stayed that way, he didn't do it and that is why the belt has changed hands:bbb:bbb
Sexton has developed a great new strategy: spit out your mouthpiece, gesture to it to distract your opponent, then club them in the face. British ingenuity, old boy!
Missed this fight due to working in catering trade, sounds like a good old fashioned big fight farce.I thought Rogan would have an easy enough night, sorry i missed it now.
If they let Danny Williams fight on with a dislocated shoulder, they should have let Rogan fight on. He ****ed up when he said 10 fingers!
Was at the post fight presser Frank sent word from a high that there is to be a rematch he thinks it will sell well in belfast so it might just happen
:rofl:rofl:rofl best thread title I can remember seeing. Didn't see the fight but it sounds like Rogan had him in trouble but a combo of Sexton spitting out his gummie and Rogan not fighting on, then getting en eye injury...and the ever bent Dave Parris prematurely stopped it...that about right?
