Two champions sparring together is not happening very often. Imagine if Froch looks bad against Dawson.. goodbye confidence. We'll see.
Losing in sparring to the top LHW isn't going to bother Froch. He doesn't have an 'ego'; he has a mentality: To fight. Froch - despite what many may say - is very smart, lives and trains daily. He is mentally solid point in fact you don't see him fold in a fight when he has it all to do and make a comeback. Froch'll probably be bettered by Chad Dawson but lets face it Dirrell is no Chad Dawson and that's the truth baby!
As knowledgeable and as respectful as you come across, I'll have to disagree. According to Floyd Sr, Dirrell sparred Chad Dawson earlier in 2007, and apparently whipped on Dawson in sparring. Sparring is one thing and a fight is a different, sure.. but to say that Dirrell and Dawson are worlds apart is proposterous, Dirrell held his own and according to Floyd beat Dawson up so bad he had to pull Dawson out. Froch is one tough cookie, he's sparred champions in their own right before, whilst Dawson will make a formidable sparring partner, I expect Froch to hold his own.
And it does very rarely happen, it's sparring after all. If you get your opponent hurt you don't finish him off, both men are supposed to benefit from the sparring session. But I guess these kids can't distinguish sparring from a real bout.atsch
They are worlds apart. Dawson is head and shoulders better than the unproven Dirrell. Floyd Sr. only said this moments after being fired by Dawson. He also called Dawson a "******" in the same interview. Not what I'd call an unbiased source. :good
froch and dawson are both commodities and respected. there's no way in hell - and quote me on that unless they are good mates ala oscar and shane - that this sparring session will happen.
