It's not daring to be great if you wait until you are about to retire to face domestic level opposition. These guys should be ashamed of themselves as professional fighters only taking 17 fights each by their age: 34 and 29. We've got 18 year olds with more than that. Props to Barrera for rolling the dice with Ward, but that's about it.

There are only a handful of guys that I would say are daring to be great right now: Andre Ward, Vasyl Lomachenko, Roman Gonzalez, Naoya Inoue, Juan Francisco Estrada, and maybe Usyk. That's if you don't count the no hopers Khan and Brook who stepped up to get knocked back down again.

Barrera has no balance at all, wide punches, no defense, he either needs to get a trainer or retire.............even the midget Brand did better against Ward than Barrera...........

Barrera turned pro at 27 and he only fought once in 2012 and 2013. Other than that, he has been quite active.

Shabranskyy can fight at multiple ranges and has faster hands and feet. This will be an impressive victory for him, showing Ward how he should have dealt with Barrera.

Decent fight. I think Shabransky wins and puts himself into position for a major fight afterwards.

For a Friday night HBO Latino card this is a solid tripleheader.

Barrera has potential but as long as he stays with Sanchez he will never amount to much and his career will probably follow that of Allan Green, a career opponent.
Barrera should run like hell from Sanchez and get himself a decent trainer.

Shabranskyy isn't extremely fast, but he makes up for it with good balance, great technique and very good punch placement. He's got some good power as well.

Barrera is evenly matched in just about everything, so I expect this to be a tough fight. If I had to pick a winner, I'd pick Shabranskyy with a Late knockout with a perfectly placed left hook!

That depends on what you consider active. Mike Tyson fought every month his first two years and earned a title when he was 20. Canelo started boxing professionally when he was 15 and fought 6 times a year until he got his first title when he was 21. Pacquiao seized a title in his 25th fight when he was 20. Even Mayweather who would go on to barely fight at all, fought nearly every month of his pro career until he won his first title at the age of 21. It's a question of ambition. Most guys don't got it.

What's so "daring to be great" about this fight. Clearly, you have very skewed expectations.

I want to hear your thoughts about Kovalev once he gets white washed as well by Ward.
