Sadly I do this a lot... lol. For some reason everytime I have a conversation with someone I start shadowboxing them..... xD
This may sound sad but I often think about punching people. When I walk in the supermarket, someone exposes his sides and I think about sacking him like a bag of **** with a punch in the liver. Or someone whose face I simply do not like. Mind you I never give in to it, I just smile and move on.
Shadow boxing anywhere but in the gym or when your warming up to fight, makes you look a ****. The idea of it been dark is so that no one see's you. Hope this helps.:good
Why is that though? I'm not disputing it, just wondering. It's an important part of our sport and needs to be done. It's like calling a cyclist a **** because he cycles.
Agreed. I can't stand watching people do it. Try in the gym and you won't have to try so hard in public to impress people. (I can only assume they think they are impressing people.)
That's also the answer to my question I think. Perhaps I'm weird but that's the last reason I can think of for myself. When I'm working out I'm in a world of my own, I couldn't give two shits what anyone thinks of me. But I know it's frowned upon so I don't do it. Good to see you back here btw
When you are working out is one thing but if you're standing around at a cocktail party or wandering around the mall is totally different. Just like you're not supposed to be standing around socializing at the gym, you're not supposed to be shadowboxing at the mall. See what I'm saying here? Nice to see you too.
Point taken. If you shadowbox at parties you're a ****, clear as day. What about boxing discussions at social gatherings where you have to give an example of the subject at hand though? I'm a bit guilty of that as well, and it may also make me look like an idiot. Sometimes you meet a boxing enthusiast and before you know it you're showing each other defensive movements and such.
That's different than just standing in a group of people talking about the weather. It's within context. Still, I try to keep boxing conversations to a minimum when I'm in groups of people because I've noticed that the only people interested are me and the one person asking me questions. It can get rude sometimes.
Agreed. Btw fight number two is finally on its way. I'm already getting hyped up with still 12 days to go. You probably had 20 more since my first one
