Floyd is 100% fighting again, it's easy money for him. His team isn't stupid, they pretend like Floyd doesn't know about his future for two reasons. A) Prevent fight offers and trash talking going his way B) Hype

Berto is 160+ lbs in the ring every time. He's a huge welter with fast hands and power.

Alvarez recent opposition isn't a good tune up for Floyd, bad move to sit around for months then jump in the ring with Mayweather. I'd be shocked if that fight went down.

    :D Wouldn't be a surprise.

Yea he's about Floyd/Cotto's height, but the dude is massive probably why he looks shorter. Wasn't he fighting 154-160 in the ams?

Thats when Floyd likes to fight as it's cinco de mayo. With it being a mexican fighter the PPV numbers should be good

Do they want Alvarez to get a loss on his record

If Martinez isn't drained to **** at 154, he knocks Canelo the **** out.

Mayweather taps that ginger ass at this point.

I'd probably pick Cotto to beat him, but I could definitely see that fight being competitive.

    My vote goes to Cotto.

Yeah, he always fights around Cinco de Mayo or Mexican Independence Day since he crossed over, with the exception of Hatton. Marquez was delayed, but still...

    Cotto, May 2012
    Ortiz, September 2011
    Mosley, May 2010
    Marquez, September 2009
    De La Hoya, May 2007

    It's good business.

He was 156 against Ortiz. He's not that big.

He beat the **** out of Hatton, I don't know what fight you were watching.

Canelo was caught off balance more than anything by Cotto. He wasn't seriously hurt at all. He hasn't shown any vulnerability since then, and that was more than three years ago. Lots of guys suffer a few knockdowns or get hurt a few times when they're kids only to later develop extremely sturdy chins, like DLH, Manny, etc.

And you make it sound like a brawl favors Berto. It doesn't. Tree beat the crap out of him by pressuring and brawling. You think Canelo is less effective at that kind of thing than Ortiz?! :rofl:rofl:rofl

As I said earlier, Canelo is stronger, more accurate, more powerful, is a better combination and body puncher, has faster hands, better timing, and can cut off the ring better than Ortiz. He'd thrash Berto.

You're the only one smoking crack. If this fight comes off down the line, I'd happily take a ban bet with you to kick your sorry ass off ESB for a month or more, however much you want to bet.

The winner of Martirosyan-Lara will definitely make some noise in order to get the Alvarez fight. The winner is the mandatory challenger for Alvarez.

It'll be Cotto whether he wins or loses against Trout.

He was definitely hurt by cotto, rocked against the ropes and on unsteady legs afterward

I doubt he'd have the same issues at 154 though

    Canelo would beat Berto
