Last week, Shakr put on a masterclass by dominating a top 10 guy (not losing any rounds). Yesterday, after a year's layoff, Ennis came in and completely dominated David (not losing any rounds) and stopped David earlier than Crawford did. Yet.... both are constantly receiving too much criticism. Look, I understand that Shakur could be a little more active but name another fighter at 135 (outside of Tank and Maybe Loma) who would be favored over Shakur. Same with Ennis, I see no one at 147 beating the guy and the only guys at 154 who have a chance are Crawford and Ortiz (50/50). The boxing community complains about Shakur being too defensive and not active enough but when Ennis comes in there and puts defense to the side and completely dominates David offensively, "Oh, he gets hit too much." I am starting to believe that the boxing community is not a fan of "boxing" but a fan of "Boxers". Go back and watch Crawford vs Ava and Crawford fought Ava the exact same way and was getting hit just as much if not more than Ennis. Let's also not forget that Ennis had not fought for a year and Ava was a quick replacement for Cody. Shakur vs Tank is a 50/50 fight on paper because Shakur is the more textbook boxer with the better defense while Tank is the more powerful/durable fighter out of the two.

Crawford is not some defensive wizard and has been hurt by lesser fighter than Ennis and Tank has not been in the ring with someone who posses the skills that Shakur does. Like, can the boxing community make their minds up? Are we fans of the sweet science or not? Do we want to see action or not?

You have it correct in my opinion way too many fans of certain boxers and not enough fans of boxing itself, I wonder how many people on this site have been to fights amateur or professional or really know a little bit about the business side of boxing like matchmaking??

Shakur is proven at the highest level, but is boring.

Ennis doesn't belong in the same sentence tbh.

I find it interesting that Terrance Crawford is both a great boxer and a great fighter knockout artist he ticks all the box's yet most of the American fans on here do not like him the majority of them were on team Spence and have made nothing but excuses since Crawford destroyed him.

Crawford laid Avanysan out flat. Ennis also didn't fight the same as Crawford. Crawford almost always fights in the danger zone and with his style he's always going to get hit. He invites offense so he can counter with combinations. It's a lot riskier than countering with potshots. Crawfords entire style is centered on punching with his opponents and banking on landing his shots first.

You’re enlightened, maybe at Shakurs next fight, you can try to convince everyone to stay til the end…..

I dont see any one say Shakur isn’t good, just that he’s boring, and has a mostly negative style when he fights anyone who might really be a threat to him so far.

Ennis is good and exciting…. Probably not on Shakurs overall skill level, honestly, but he’s much more of a professional both in and outside of the ring…

I appreciate the skills of Shakur, but he really is boring, and he seems to really lack character too.

They’re pro athletes, they’re going to be criticized, and when you try to make a smug remark about “I wonder if these people really know anything about boxing” maybe consider the several championship caliber fighters that have also made some of the same criticisms of these guys………

Because it is pretty evident that something was wrong with Spence that night. Any one with two eyes can see that

That makes no sense ennis Broke Ava jaw and stopped him a round earlier than Crawford did. Ennis has also yet to lose a round.

Yep. I am a Crawford fan. I did, however, call the Spence/Crawford fight 50/50 going in. I did add the caveat, that whoever can adapt better will most likely win and that Spence, to that point never really needed to adapt. So, that was the unknown factor. We found out, Spence cannot adapt and never had a plan B.

Shakur's Masterclass? Masterclass seems to be thrown out a lot when it is just one guy doing enough to win a rnd.

Yeah fair enough but even before the Spence fight Crawford was not appreciated by the US fan despite being better than all of his countrymen.

Spence's punch resistance looked gone in the fight before Crawford.

Ennis looked good. In the rbr I was surprised that there was so much criticism. It was obvious that the plan was to go all out attack...which means he wasn't overly concerned with defense
