Artem Harutyunyan is ranked #59 at lightweight by BoxRec, he's far from a top ten opponent. He was coming off a loss to Frank Martin, who Gervonta Davis just knocked out.

And David Avanesyan is ranked #23 at welterweight.

Stevenson needs to man up and face a REAL top ten lightweight, not no-hopers like Harutyunyan.

Likewise Ennis (who does look like a better fighter than Stevenson) should be fighting better opposition.

It's not Ennis fault he is being ducked

Ennis did get too much hate imo. He just had his first career layoff, a late replacement with a completely different style, and was a bit too eager to impress his hometown. All things considered, Ennis went in there and had a decent performance.

A - performance based on circumstance. He is ready for the best at 147 and 154

He's beaten the two beat fighters at SFW back to back.

That puts him in the highest level.

Ennis is nowhere near that level of proven.

Shakur is now at LW and the top two fighters there are Loma and Tank so we'll see if he can repeat the feat again.

I don't see a huge disparity between Villa and the fighters Shakur has faced

Yeah, his defense and no plan B was the problem.

The fighters Shakur has faced have been the best in the world. The fighters Ennis has faced haven't.

I think part of that is that he didn't challenge himself at WW before Spence. He basically threw his perhaps best 4-5 years down the drain fighting the shells of Khan and Brook and worse. Porter was ok, but at the end of his career.

I hear you and agree Ennis hasn't matched his accomplishments. I was poking fun at you saying he has achieved the highest level in the sport, and he is far from that. He could get there, but there are plenty of levels above what he has done to date.

Ennis beat a 35 year old with a 4 week training camp and was hit fairly often it's nothing to write home about.

No one has ever denied Stevenson doesn't have skills but hes just plain boring and I wouldn't exactly call his last performance a "masterclass".

If you want to see masterclasses......

    Toney vs Barkley

    Whitaker vs Ramirez 2nd fight

    Norris vs Brown 2nd fight

    Mayweather vs Corrales

    RJJ vs Hall

Crawford gets hit daily often as well. It's not Shakur and Ennis's fault they are avoided.
