Power is not overrated. In the higher weight classes being a featherfist or not physically strong is basically a death note. You can't fight like Shakur does at 175 or higher. Good news for him is he is fighting little men where power is less important.

Usyk doesn't have alot of pop he beats guys with superior skill level. What are you talking about? Bivol as well. Shakur like Usyk and bivol punch hard enough to get your respect they hit guys with shots they don't see coming and are accurate as hell.

 

Usyk punches much harder than Shakur p4p. He had AJ on skates from single shots. Hes also cannot be billed in the clinch either.

 

Aj had his best success when he tried to bully and rough up usyk in their second fight. He just doesn't like to use his size. If Usyk fights fury you will see that he can be bullied in the clinch. Shakur can hurt you just like usyk and bivol.

9 out of the top 10 in boxrec all time rankings at 175 would be considered as average world class hitters.
Right now, the Ring Magazine top 10 do carry a decent punch with them, but half of them aren´t applauded for their power. Chad Dawson and Hopkins did not need power to claim the top spots.
Julio Cesar Gonzalez, Michalczewski and Michael Spinks were not considered big punchers either.
Not to state that they were featherfists.
But Stevenson is 8 and 0 since his first title fight (included). 3 of those wins have been via KO. Out of the 5 that Stevenson has gone the distance with, only Toka Kahn has been stopped previously. So Stevenson´s record is deceptive.
And when you compare his fights at 126 to now, I´d say that he is clearly hitting way harder these days. He has improved his technique.
