The way he talks about himself works for him as he's the best prospect in boxing because of his mentality. Olympic Silver Medalist, Youth Olympic Gold Medalist and is determined to leave a great legacy. He should pump himself up with self confidence.
He has some hiccups to overcome - Ward for example was dropped and hurt in his younger days, it won't be easy but I believe he has the winners mentality to be able to rise to the top.

To be fair Shields should be chromosome tested to determine whether or not "she" is a biological female or not!

What system are we speaking of here? Im confused his opportunities are provided via skill, potential and talent. There's no system specifically designed for Shakur to succeed where are you getting this inaccurate information.

Stuff being said in this thread is suspect. Spence Jr. may be humble from his southern upbringing but anybody can tell he has supreme confidence in himself. He was given a nickname "the Truth" for a reason. I'm sure he believes he's the next big star. He was on the braggadocio side for the pre-fight stuff for Brook anyways.
Shakur has a lot of talent and ambition, no need to be fake humble to make you feel safe. With all due respect, **** your feelings like it's possible to win you over being this sensitive about mild statements about self belief. It's funny that Lomo isn't humble either inside or outside the ring yet not one word about his antics. We know why.

When have you ever said anything positive about Klitschko, Usyk, Kovalev, Beterbiev, Bivol, Gvozdyk, Golovkin, Lomachenko etc. You hypocritical and projecting sack of ****?

OH I do not know, perhaps the major TV network that has been airing his fights since he turned pro and his powerful promoters/managers all looking out for him.

His self declaration the other day on how he will take over boxing also showed some serious delusion. I saw a guy last night go the distance with a hand picked can designed to make him look great. He also managed to keep his chin in the air for a good portion of that fight.

Understood, still I fail to see how the investments made by those who recognize his abilities can somehow be morphed into fuel to justify vilanizing the young man for speaking his mind. He may very well flop but who are we to suddenly label him an arrogant narcissistic fool at this stage in his career.

Oh come on the lack of respect and fair measurement of fighters that don't particularly fit the preferred mold runs rampant in this forum. Practically everyone is guilty of it some more than others.

What's this obsession with saying "the sport of boxing", like it makes them look smart. Why not just say boxing or sport.

He has the most talent out of any of the prospects across all nations, that's undeniable. Will he go on to fulfill his talent? I think it's possible, he has the right team around him. If he ends up as good as a pro as he was an amateur H2H, he is going to end up better than the aforementioned.

For someone that has frequent nightmares with Lomachenko, is funny that you don't know how to write his name.
