If his next fight goes the distance he'll drop into the sub KO 50% range and even if I hated the guy I wouldn't wish something like that on my worst enemy.

And as if sporting a sub KO 50% isn't a bad enough look as it is but sporting one when you've only had 16 fights and grunt when you punch? What the hell?!

He needs to spend the next few months watching Alen "The Savage" Babic's career box set religiously

Problem the fan boys don’t understand is that Stevenson wants to be a huge star. Unfortunate for him, his style of fighting doesn’t translate to PPV money. It also doesn’t help that he does a lot of talking “super star performance and I promise you I will knock him out”. Then lands 6 punches a rnd to a unanimous 12 rnd decision against a 1 dimensional fighter.

I found him rather pleasing to watch, although I wouldn’t label him as exciting. He’s a fighter that only boxing connoisseurs would really appreciate.

The Valdez fight wasn't very exciting I have to admit. Stevenson was dominant but failed to close the show as you'd expect and turn that dominance on the scorecards into a strong finish where you are looking to finish your opponent and your opponent is utterly defeated and looking to survive. Instead we got Stevenson doing what he had done throughout the fight, refusing to step on the gas and Valdez still trying to turn the fight his way instead of having his last ounce of desire to win beaten out of him.

If Stevenson is going to grow his popularity beyond the hardcore fans, winning won't be enough, he needs to put on a show when he has an opponent outclassed like that.

Hit and not get hit. You either like the art, skill, and science or you dont.

I'd rather watch "boring" Shakur over "exciting" low-level brawlers any day of the week

I agree. He is defensively sound but no semblance of power.
