You do know that 2 of his stoppage wins happened in the 1st round right. And 2 others in the 2nd......so NEVER is a strong word......

But I do agree that he does favor the defensive aspect of the game more than the offense. I wouldn't say it's because he could "never be like that" because I've seen him come downhill vs opponents and have them on skates, but it's something he doesn't commit to for some reason.

It's one of the main reasons I feel that if he and Keyshawn were to face off, Keyshawn wins that fight. Shakure doesn't have the 'finisher' mentality, which keeps him from being the elite fighter that he thinks he already is.

Yea, exactly what I expected. He's a young guy who feels like evolution makes todays fighters better than yesterdays. In a sense he isn't wrong, via logic, but wrong on the direct subject/individual. Sugar Ray was a generational talented. He should always be spoken highly of when discussing the best to do. To do what he did during his time, come on now.

I just hate that fans and even some competitors feel in order to rank great fighters or appreciate a great fighter, they have to belittle or discredit another fighter and/or his era like multiple Kings can't exist. Even in history.

Bob Arum was trying to keep him... Offered an extension twice..... Both times was documented.

Advisors aren't there to tell a guy to keep a popular opinion. There are to keep the athlete from doing things that will tarnish his brand.

How is calling one of the best P4P fighters in the history of the sport a "bum" not going to tarnish his brand? It's probably the number one reason I can't get behind him.

Us as fans aren't going to like the comment but that comment is not going to keep sponsors from attaching themselves to Shakur. That's what his brand is for. Yes, we as fans would like to think we are more important than we are in depicting how athletes should conduct themselves but truthfully, they don't have to have the opinions we want them to have. Simple as that.

Think about it.... Teofimo/Ryan Garcia went on racial rants. It slowed down their sponsorship until they came and claimed they were really racist and/or got an Afro American peer to openly say they know him and don't think he is.....

But there are multiple fighters who suggested that previous fighters aren't as good as themselves and/or another current fighter. D. Wilder use to crap on Mike Tyson's name saying he would put him to sleep by the 3rd round. Its competitors having confidence in themselves. Nothing more.

Yeah, this whole generation of elite American talents is social media-obsessed and highly insecure. The problem with Shakur calling Robinson a bum is that he has nothing to back it up. If Mayweather said it, he'd be wildly inaccurate, but you could at least argue that he was one of the greats of his era, just like SRR was, and has earned the right to judge other ATG fighters.

Shakur has done nothing in the same league, IMO, and it comes across as highly distasteful. There's confidence, and there's arrogance; for me, it's a fine line. Usyk always talks about Ali being the greatest. Crawford and Usyk used to pick each other as P4P number one. Shakur saying one of the greatest fighters of all time is a bum is pathetic, really, and shows a real lack of class.

I don't disagree with anything you are saying here. But again, Shakur is a product of this new generation. A microwave generation if you will. Most of them don't know much about anything that didn't happen recently. They don't respect anything unless it's currently happening. They want ultimate praise and pay for mini work and accomplishments. I was on a basketball board discussing how many of those players that are classified as SUPERSTARS and how many are on max contracts but have won NOTHING yet in their careers. You got college kids becoming millionaires as 19 year olds before they even make it to the league, IF, they actually do.

Shakur has accomplished quite a lot both as an amateur and pro....so he is not out of pocket for thinking he is elite....obviously there are certain things we as fans would like to see him accomplish before we anoint him anywhere close to an ATG. But he is allowed to have his opinion as much as the rest of us. Even if we don't agree with it.

You also have to understand that these kids use terms as a cliche, not as the literal term. I wouldn't necessarily say he's classless because Shakur respects the greats, but in the mist of trash talk.....Calling someone a bum is just a way for these young dudes to say there is someone better. I take most of what they say with a grain of salt.

Keep in mind that Shakur had no clue about just how good Hagler was until just a month ago when Claressa Shields told him about it. Clearly doesn’t know much about the past greats.

Shakur wouldn't have the mental capacity to watch old fights with patience he seems like he probably only watched Floyd when he became "Money Mayweather"
