    Fouts Boxing Theory

I think Stevenson is moving so slowly he'll miss the window. Chasing Valdez and not the actual elite talent.

He's big and strong and fast and good. Maybe great. He needs to jump into the mix that will never happen with the other divas at 135+. Teo, Haney, Tank, Ryan Garcia, Lomachenko ,etc. Only one with balls to fight outta that group is Lomachenko, however and they'll all wait 2 more years for him to slow down after watching Teo squeak by while carefully avoiding one another.

Hes 24, he just beat a top guy in the division for a title and chasing a unification fight.

Seems to be moving at a good speed to me.

What the hell are you talking about? Shakur needs to fight Lopez, Loma or Tank.

He's only 24 he's not even prime yet and he has time on his side he doesn't need to rush anything. Him fighting Loma next would be like when a 23 year old Canelo fought Mayweather only without the huge payday.

I don't get the need to rush fighters on the way up. He won his first world title 2.5 years after turning pro, he's now won his 2nd world title in his 2nd weight at 24, he's progressing fine.

He should try to unify next vs Valdez and then move up and then we can start talking about guys like Loma.

My biggest problem is that he is afraid to take a punch.

Loma`s time is running out, Shakur is far better than Canelo was at 23-24, he`ll toy with Valdez.

You`re not meant to take punches, hit and not be hit.

I am talking about his reaction when he takes the punch. he is nervous at that moment, not a good sign.

He was impressive for sure, looked seasoned for the moment and i think he can possibly unify the division soon.

Demanding or expecting a 24 year old who just moved into his second division to move up to his third division seems like you either think the world of him or badly wish for him to lose.

He looks amazing and has a better KO ratio than Haney.

Looks prime to me. He's a 2 division champ. They made a big deal about that and "coming out party" and "man strength" , etc...there was lots of that sort of rhetoric. And I agree with most (all?) of it.

He had a long and successful amateur career. He no longer looks like a skinny kid. He looks like a grown man. The training wheels are off.

He needs to fight guys in a division (2 divisions) above him for you to take him seriously?

Southpaw vs another southpaw. He looks good Herring probably has problems with a lefty since he is only used to fighting a lot of righties. Herring can't land his jab as easily on a lefty than orthodox. He didn't look comfortable. Stevenson was too sharp and too fast for him anyway.
