Weak fight. Facing a 130 lber coming off a loss. At least fight the guy that just stopped Cordina. Outside of the guys that he's been pursuing to face (Tank and Loma) he's got other fighters that he could be facing such as Navarrete, Berinchyk, Zepeda, Muratalla, Keyshawn, Chamberlain. Stop wasting time with meaningless fights that's more likely going to be boring as hell.
Cordina would make a good go of it but Stevenson will prove far too elusive. Cacace vs Stevenson intrigues me much more.
Cordina is coming off of a loss and he'll get minimal credit for the win, he should have went with Zepeda.
It would have been more interesting had they fought in 2022 when both guys were champs at 130 and coming off their best wins that year (Shakur over Valdez, Cordina over Ogawa). Too bad Cordina ended up getting stopped by Cacace. This match up really doesn't sound as appealing anymore.
Shakur is in a weird place where not many thinks he deserve big fights but grilled for sub par competition
Tank/Loma are the men to fight in the division. Stevenson needs to continue looking good until he gets his shot. This fight means nothing apart from giving him a shop window to impress in. Stevenson shouldn't be held to the same standard as Tank/Loma as no one considers him the best LW in the world.
Cordina's only hope is for him to outwork Stevenson or perhaps catch him with a punch he doesn't see coming. What are the chances that Cordina can land a punch as devastating as this? This content is protected
Shakur was getting tagged and hurt by Artem. Cordina is much, much, much better than Artem. Shakur and his defence are both vastly overrated. Cordina is a live dog here and especially since this is taking place in Saudi where Shakur won't have his refs who let him low blow.
But at least Cordina would have been an undefeated world champion moving up for the oppurtunity, that would have made it an interesting fight.
