Meh, shakur will make this another stinker, zepeda has amazing output and sets up his combos very nicely, but shakur will be on the other side of the ring before he gets a punch off.
If this is in Saudi, and Shaker doesnt have his Top Rank / ESPN protection, he may not make it out with a W on the scorecards.
Zepeda’s flaws started to look noticeable against Farmer. I think Shakur could very well give Zepeda a really hard time should they meet.
Zepeda will have learnt a lot against Farmer but I am leaning towards Shakur after that performance sadly. Shakur just bores me to death, he's a good/effective boxer but he is just so bloody boring to watch. I dislike Haney too - probably more than Shakur, but I am keen to see who would get the guaranteed decision if they fight as they are still effective boxers. Ali and Usyk are out-boxers but they are just amazing to watch, unlike Shakur and Haney.
I thought Zepeda would struggle finding Stevenson, and the Farmer fight did nothing to disabuse me of that notion. Accordingly, I like Stevenson by boring decision. The only caveat to that is Stevenson's activity, or lack thereof. I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that Zepeda ekes out a decision based entirely on volume/aggression and Stevenson's relative inactivity (ie Zepeda missing all night but gets the nod because he's the only one making the fight).
Does Zepeda have a chance against Shakur after his last showing with Farmer? I still favor Shakur to beat Zepeda right now.
Shakur will be at least a -1000 favorite here. Awful style matchup for Zepeda. He’ll get picked off all night. And I like Zepeda a lot. He’s got almost no chance vs Shakur. Maybe if he breaks both hands he can be competitive?
Zepeda holds the interim WBC title and deserves to fight for the world title. In my opinion Stevenson will beat him by a wide margin on points, the Mexican is an entertaining boxer, a warrior, but Shakur is on another level. Defense, speed, accuracy and Ring IQ are on Stevenson's side, who in my opinion in the first 2 - 3 rounds will read Zepeda's boxing and then beating him all night long.
Zepeda will most likely get outboxed but he will catch up to the runner a couple times. Let's see what happens; can Two Wheel Stevenson survive when he gets smacked?
