First of all I am from the UK and I stayed up till 5 oclock in the morning and paid £15 [About $30] to watch Ricky Hatton get knocked out. I give Manny full credit, he looked amazing. I am happy for him, however. Ricky Hatton promised he had worked on his defence, promised the world that he was going to use his jab and his better defence. First of all, he didn't use a single jab, and people will say that Manny didn't let him start up, but to be honest, Ricky Hatton was just fighting like an amatuer and everybody knew he would, thats why he was took out so quickly. I don't feel sorry for Ricky Hatton, I think he deserved what he got for being an idiot. I do however feel sorry for the 25, 000 people that went to watch him. Including a terminally ill little boy, who was in the ring, holding his belt up. That is the first time the terminally ill kid has been able to fly across the atlantic because of his illness, and thats what he has to witness from Ricky. And I would love to hear his excuses as to why he didn't defend himself and why he kept walking in there, Its clear that he underestimated his speed and power, I think most people did. I don't think Ricky should fight again, theres no point, with all the promises he made about being a more skilled boxer I just don't really like him anymore, Its not that he lost, Its just how he promised so much to everybody and then ran into Manny thinking he could over power him, he has let everybody down for the last time.

Its time for The Hitman to retire.

But well done Pacman, I will now admit that he is one amazing fighter and rightly deserves to be Pound For Pound king! I will be cheering for him against Floyd. [If that fight does go ahead.]

I think Ricky threw the plan off the window and tried to fight the old jab-grab, maul style. He paid dearly. Floyd Sr. spoke clearly and said "you can't go and jump on him without jabbing or moving your head" - he's capable of doing it (see Malinaggi fight), why didn't he do it? Maybe it was nerves (one tends to reverse to old habits).

I'm sorry about you mate. But the UK is now a great farm for Boxers, the best is yet to come.

Hatton has been ripping off people for years....some of us saw for years what a fraud he was.

Floyd snr is a decent trainer but nobody can polish a turd.

Hatton did use a jab and that was the mistake, against a leftie when you use a jab you leave yourself open to the right hook and that's what hurt Hatton and badly in the first round. Hatton charges in, that's the way he fights and when his opponent overpowers him and backs him up with pure power then you know he's getting dominated.

Yeah, obviously! But, all his promises and ****. Where did all those skills go? thats my point, not that he was knocked out, the fact that he fought like a total amatuer, thinking that would be enough to win him the fight??? :patsch

STFU! Pac was just too fast & too good. i doubt Hatton planned to get KO'd but there's not much u can do when someone's that much quicker than you. Hats off 2 Hatton for even taking the fight. Pacquiao's like the Bruce Lee of boxing.
This is an incredibly immature reaction. Your on Ricky's nuts when he's winning but when he loses...

Don't you think you're being a little harsh on Hatton?

The man fought the best fighter p4p in the world, not some lesser fighter.

I think maybe that is a bit harsh but i can see how you can think that.

Roach basically summed it when he said months ago that Mayweather can teach him a new style all he wants but as soon as Ricky gets smacked in the mouth he is just going to revert to type.

Yep. But my point is that he said he was going to change all that but he didn't change a single thing, thats why I am soooo annoyed with him.

I am not being harsh about his loss, I mean, everybody expected him to lose, and I will repeat myself for the last time! Its not that he lost thats annoyed me, its the fact that he didn't even have a gameplan, he didn't use any of his "skills" just run in there like a headless chicken.

Man you really don't have to be pissed. This is the way Hatton fights and the way he always did, even Mayweather Sr. admitted he CAN'T change everything in Hatton but all he can do is add a few improvements here and there. Pacquiao just didn't ALLOW Hatton to show any improvements, he just overpowered him from the opening bell and Hatton was lost there. Ricky has had 46 fights before fighting Pacquiao and ALWAYS fought the way he does, it's just IMPOSSIBLE to change that at this point, a little improvements can be added but nothing more. Improvements were added but Pacquiao just didn't give him a chance to show anything.
