Especially when they'd back up such a solid theory, why wouldn't you delete it?

Yes, one for the tv cameras so they have some footage for the 6 o'clock news, and the official one one which is 24 hours before a fight, which in the case of Green-Wlod would have been 5pm. You need to get out of the house and attend a fight every now and then, you'll find these things are quite commonplace.

Why is the 6 o'clock news so important Leon ? In this day and age of 24 hr multi-media and pay tv that is just an excuse Team Hyder throw out there to cover up the secret catchweight that they enforced on the poor Polish fellow. Seriously no one would give two hoots to see the weigh-in on the damn news anyway. Boxing is hardly followed at all in this country. The casual fans wouldn't even know who the fighters were.

    Try again Leon.

    That's a bit of a contradiction.
How can he be a fraud at CW, when he got KO'd twice at CW?

If you'd ask me whether I thought his CW fights were a bit sus up until his last 2, then sure, my answer would be a definite yes.

But today, considering he's been KO'd by 2 genuine CW's at the full CW limit, why on earth would I think he's a fraud at CW?
    I didn't say that.
    My words were -
    This content is protected

That's just it, he was trying to gain an advantage. No one's denying that.
I have no idea, why don't you ask Danny Green that question?

I could speculate that he preferred the potential small advantage that an opponent with a lower weight may bring.
As I said, I did agree pre Tarver and Wlod.
Tarver and Wlod were good genuine CW fights, ones which he happened to lose. That happens.
What's strange about it? I have discussions that are important to me.
It takes a few seconds to download a pile as a txt file and save to to my HDD, all 25kb of it.

It could be said it's strange that someone quotes a PM that happened some time back, but then not provide the PM.

Sox do you think catchweights in world title fights cheapen the sport of boxing ?

    Wow.

Hmm, why would the 6 o'clock news be so important?

Lets say the footage gets covered on all three commercial networks. That would be a audience of close to 2 million people. Hmm, why would you want to reach so many people? Of course, not every one will take notice or care, but there will be a percentage that watch and on the basis of that, may even be tempted to go to a pub or even buy it at home on Main Event.

Yeah, what promoter would consider such drastic action like that?

Try buying Mondays edition of the Australian and in the media section it'll give you a rundown of the top 20 programs for the week and with viewer numbers state by state. As many subscribers as Foxtel has, it obviously doesn't even approach normal free to air tv.

Keep going mate, you're not making yourself look like an idiot at all.

Leon as a boxing fan, a passionate one like most on here, are you happy that some world title fights are held at catchweights ? Do you think this cheapens the sport ?

Thanks Francis, just got your pm, I'm sorry to hear about that, those sailors down at the docks can be real rough, I know you were short of money but six at a time can be too much so I hope the surgeon has luck with the stitching job. I accept your apology. Onward and upward,

    Leon

Dunno, I've never bothered to put that much thought into it.
I guess it's not quite as legitimate as fighting at an official weight limit, however if both fighters agree to the weight, then I wouldn't say it cheapens it.
It's still a legitimate fight, just at a slightly different weight to the norm.

At the end of the day, if it is making a difference for a particular fighter, then it will likely catch up with them in the long run, as they'll eventually have to face someone at an official standard weight.

Green tried to get as many advantages as he could and his catchweights were lame. But you cant knock his resume...tarver and an obviously healthy polish champ back to back is pretty bad ass, no matter how you slice it.

You and your nuffy wife Francis should concern yourselves with the watering down of world title belts through **** like interim, regular super, silver, emeritus, etc. Catchweights should be the least of your worries.

Anyway, on to more important matters. Come down to Melbourne for Dale's fight. We can sign a contract for Jim's show in June then if you like.
