does he give it away now? hell naver match tua, and he dont want to go back to pub fights so was he thrown in to early and did his management take the fight cause of the money factor he definetly was not ready for this fight good prospect i think just bad management
IMO that fight was a career ender, a complete ass whooping that gives the self confidence a giant knock that most young fighters dont recover from...even guys like Cotto arent the same after a sustained punishing like this... they really threw him to the lions there - but perhaps he was looking for a big pay day knowing that he was always going to be d grade and just wanted to get what he could? still, i think his people were being greedy and fed him some triffling rubbish about david being shot
I think there' still some money grabbing fights with maybe Meehan & the rest of the Oz heavies such as Haumano, Leapia, Wilson, Hoppa...........oops did I say Hoppa sorry that was a mistake.
I think he should fight outside Australasia. He has pretty shitty defense and every time he throws he's open. A good trainer would sort it out. He can't do what Tua did and basically hang up his gloves when he totally got outclassed. Look at some of the guys Tua demolished who kept plugging away and eventually became world champ. He should have called out Arreola not Tua.
I think Cameron will now need another 2 good wins against top ranked aussies or kiwis before he gets back in the top 25 radar to fight the likes of Arreola.
i cant see the mountain goat beating Christobal. Hes not as busy, not as fat and not as good at taking a punch.:deal
How many fights do you consider enough before 'thrown in'? He'd had 24 fights for only 1 loss going into the bout, cleaned up pretty much every one on the local scene. To then say 'bad management', both he and Tua got paid $500k each for the fight, how is that bad management? There is no way Cameron's 24 previous fights netted him $500k total, yet your saying it's bad management to get him so well paid?? His biggest payday ever, more than his ability deserves and more so, biggest he's ever going to see in his career!!! Shane Cameron will not be unhappy with how he was managed going into this fight, they managed brilliantly to get him the record he had, and positioned him beautifully to promote against Tua, much the same as Green's people did vs. Mundine when Mundine was the draw.
in regards to rewards for facing a fighter who is several class levels above him....i think Cameron did very well indeed. $500k and a serious beating later,,,, hes smiling while drinking out of straw....just kidding,He is just smiling:hey Calling out a dangerous puncher was a serious miscalculation by the management. When you consider that they were doing a good job positioning Shane for a shot at a title, they sure messed it up. First with Friday and now with Tua. He could of escaped much negative attention when Friday KO'd him, but what now? They have a lot of ground to make up dont you think?? Shane has a "reasonable" chin, but not at the level of the A+B class of fighters that live in the top 100 ranking. If money is the measure of success then Shane still won when he got KO'd huh? nice way of rationalizing what to a serious fighter is a bad management decision. He won some money.,,, and lost self confidence that may never be recovered. So cashing out is all that is left for him now. He can kiss a credible title shot goodbye. Fighting Oliver McCall may be his only chance at "glory" now. Enjoy whatever portion of the $500k that you end up with Shane.:hi:
