just saw an article on the front page here about shane being offered some different fights....with khan or canelo as much as we all know what shane is at this point/age anyone still think this is a pretty good fight for alvarez? i think its still a pretty good test at this stage in his young career.....shane is still pretty quick....pretty durable.....and i think canelos style blends well with shanes and it would make for something that might be worth watching do not wanna see shane/khan.....although id watch...itd be an interesting opponent for khan to come back against...i just feel like it will be similar to khan/judah.....only shanes alot tougher than zab
Khan and Canelo both beat Shane. Honestly I don't mind it. Would rather see Khan-Mosley than Canelo-Mosley though. At least it would be a step up in weight for Khan and make it a little more even. Canelo would just bully Shane, it'd be an ugly fight that Shane wouldn't win, he doesn't have any fighter left in him.
To Pad canelo's resume with a good name, its great. But, to face an Unranked fighter at 154 coming off of 3 bad performances is really bad, plus who wants to see a great fighter that once was Shane get TKO'd by a young Champ... I mean if he wants the money I guess, but its just not worth getting a beat down or rurining a fight by running like he did against PAC the thing is Canelo will not be hesitant to chase him down like PAC, and will eventually make PAC's wish of being the first to stop Mosely.. NOT interested in this fight... I like Cotto/Kirkland-Molina winner/Mayweather/Lara/or even Bundrage to unify. There are some haters that will talk **** and say Mosely and Margarito will whoop on him but its just hater talk and once the fight is singed the same persons saying that **** will hate on the fight..
He (Canelo) invests a lot more in his jab. He's still getting edgier though, for an already meticulously cautious fighter, which in my view is a good thing. It's one of those 'right now.' scenarios.
Not really, with a mosely that does not throw much anymore and each time he does it seems like he is forcing his body to throw... so his output is minimal, with a mosely that gasses after a few rounds, he is banking on a lucky shot like he landed on May... but that's it. He offers nothing that could present a problem to Canelo in terms of styles, and will be running most of the fight, and earning his check... so NO this fight sucks.
Actually reminds me of Quintana like four years ago, (in so far as spectator's view). Mosley's been particularly frustrated with his last opposition, so it's natural he'd be reluctant to commit. He's not shoddy.
to be honest Shane would be a good fight for Khan if he moves up an older fighter on a losing streak to ease into 147, problem is shane is a fighter who will reinvent himself once in a while and has plenty of power the canelo fight is alright too, canelo is still a work in progress, and if this is your early career this is a good scalp
2009 Mosley would beat the crap out of Canelo but the 2011 ***** we got might just run after the first punch. He could still beat Canelo by tricking him. Throw easy shots and make it easy for Canelo. Time the perfect haymaker and go to down on that ginger.
I see this fight as a one-sided beatdown coming Mosley's way. If the fight happened in May then Mosley is a near shot fighter, nearing 41, who will have been off for a year. Alvarez is a big, strong, young, fighter who is getting better and better. Unless Mosley can land a big shot(which is possible I guess) he's in for a long punishing night. This is a good fight for Alvarez, Mosley will easily be the biggest name he's faced and maybe his toughest opponent but I'm not sure. Alvarez will make a nice payday and Mosley is still a big name so Alvarez should be all over this fight. Mosley would probably be better off trying to get Khan, I think he loses that but he doesn't get a beating like I think he will with Alvarez. I understand Alvarez has been angling for a Mayweather fight so I see why he will probably be off until early May. I just hope he doesn't fall into the trap of fighting one or two times a year. He's been a very active fighter and I hope he keeps that up and this 5-6 month lay off doesn't become his norm.
Retirement before a great fighter gets hurt. If he still had a magic trcik in the box let him use it in his non ring life.
