You fail to acknowledge that the very commission responsible is already complicit. Their own official already signed off on a hand that was taped up and gloved before Nazim Richardson got to the dressing room. They had to re-tape those hands three times to meet standards. Can you explain how that happened, without rushing to the defense of a fighter who may have engaged in ILLEGAL practices that could have led at some point to the permanent injury or even death of an opponent? You can be damn sure that Richardson KNOWS hand wraps and what is and is not permissible. Margarito and his team also know after many pro fights and at very minimum tried to pull a fast one. At worst, they tried a whole lot more than that.
Naazim said he was so mad he coulda punched Margarito's trainer so I think he at least feels very certain about what he saw. Good point. The commission already screwed up and who going to hold that person accountable? Probably no one. A lot of things are kept quiet but this where it may have put a fighter's life in danger is too big to be covered up if any of these commissioners have a shred of dignity but maybe they'll cave for money. I hope not.
When will those 'damn facts' come in. You sure there ain't any shenanigans or some form of cover-up regarding this matter. Everything is plain and simple. Margarito had tried using something that does not conform to the regulations. Thats not a mere infraction but rather the intent to have an advantage over his opponent whether it is merely to protect his hands or to the contrary. Thats CHEATING!!!...
Shane's trying to be respectful to Margarito but if you don't believe he thinks this is serious you are crazy.
So are you implying this isn't a big deal? Had Margarito not been caught red-handed, and then went on to administer a career ending life altering beatdown of Shane, would it have been a big deal then? Just because foul play has been prevented, doesn't mean it should be swept under the wrong. This has nothing to do with hating. It has to do with right and wrong. I'm sure most who are being critical of Margarito would actually prefer the allegations were untrue.
I feel even if someone is not of fan of Margarito the majority would not want this to be true for the sake of boxing.
well I'm no expert but i believe that the plaster padding below the hand wraps is there to protect the knuckles and does very little to add power to the punches. If I'm wrong then yes its a big deal.
shane is a class act just like cotto they are great representatives of boxing apart from the steroid thing lol
The commision would not confiscate wraps for no reason...so lets not act like all we have the Richardsons word... Aparently the pads were hard, hard enough to complete an investigation. Maybe they are chemically legal and they were prepared a week ahead of schedule so that they would harden or maybe it is plaster. In any even the pads were hard... The text you placed in italics are simply the thoughts of the writer...which are no different for the thoughts of the member of ESB...
