Shane had his chance to rematch Cotto and declined because he refused a second fight at MSG. We could have easily have watch Cotto win a split decision over Mosley instead of Clottey this past weekend. :yep
Why would it be the most logical for Cotto and his team? Cotto already beat Mosley. Pacquiao is a bigger money fight, bigger event, and provides a bigger upside for the future if Cotto wins.
This. In fact, I would argue that a Berto-Cotto fight would be just as important legacy wise (beating ANOTHER top notch undefeated fighter).
Cotto should want his belt back. That won't happen if he gets in the ring and gets beaten by little Manny. He needs to fight Shane.
This would also be a unification fight and the chance for Mosley to avenge one of his losses, For Cotto this is to beat the man who beat the man to become the man as Cotto was the Man at Welterweight once Mayweather retired.
definetly needs to be a rematch between the two. no one gave mosley a chance their first fight. I really think that wont be the case this time around. (and btw, i was one of the 2 guys on here who thought mosley would have won. and i still think he won that fight.)
you know what's funny though, I remember a lot of people discrediting Cotto and saying he wasn't the man at welter after Floyd retired, and after that discrediting Margo and saying he wasn't the man for beating Cotto and saying the title was still vacant, yet now after beating Margo people clame Mosley is the man (which I totally agree) and you don't hear a pip from nobody :yep
