It was a great fight between two of boxing's greats. My boy who was rooting for Mosley admited that Cotto won that fight before the scorecards were read. Anybody who says Mosley won this fight is in denial. It was a close one but Cotto won hands down but one thing. One reason why I can understand Mosley fans say he won was because the second half of the later rounds Mosely was bring the fight to Cotto but it was back and forth action. At the end of the day they gave us a great fight and if it was a draw I wouldn't debate that decision!
Close fight that didn't have to be that razor thin had Cotto not back pedaled SO much in the 4 rounds. I understand where he was coming from but if he had limited it to the last 2 then there wouldn't be as much controversy. Either way....I had 7-5 for Cotto.
I think that people don't realize that even while Cotto was backpeddling he was still nailing shane with some hard shots. Close but clear win for Cotto IMO
I agree Cotto won. You can't win the fight throwing one shot at a time. If shane through more combos maybe and I'm putting a emphasis on maybe, it would have been different. All in all Cotto won.
I was drinking when I watched the fight and origianlly thought Mosley should have the nod... I sobered up and just got done watching it again and scored it 115-114 for Cotto... Hard fight to score, a few rounds in there I felt could have gone either way.
Although I thought Shane had Cotto buzzed more on a few occasions, just didn't win a few more of those pretty close rounds that would have won him the fight.
