Mayweather does need combinations to win. You won't beat Pacquiao throwing one punch at a time. Floyd is also overly defensive and protective of his chin, and he has a habit of fighting in straight lines rather then using lateral movement, especially against southpaws.

Marquez has the style to beat Pac, not Floyd. Lateral movement, plus combinations, and a tough will and chin. The reason why those Mexican fighters gave Pac (a greener pac) his toughest fights is because they were tough as well and being technically good. They could take pacquiao's best shots and dish it back out.

And just for the record, Pacquiao outlanded Mayweather against Mosley, had a higher connect %, and got his less.

the thread should be titled Shane exposed pacquiao at WW

because we all thought Pac was superman at WW & Shane showed us he still has problems w/ lateral movement

That's exactly why Mayweather is trying so hard to fight Pac, right?

Floyd may have all the talent in the world but if he's unwilling to use it, he's useless.

    F*ck Floyd...

My bad , but keep in mind Mosley wasn't running and spoiling the entire fight like he was with Pacquiao.

It's not easy to pin a guy down when he's just trying to survive. Either way, Mosley got outboxed and got his ass beat up for 12 rounds , so to call it an exposure is pretty silly.

He exposed Pacquiao about as much as Bonecrusher Smith exposed Mike Tyson.

    Mayweather landed 208/477 for 44%

    Mosley landed 90/452 for 20 %

It equates to Manny being hurt! he has to be 100% against Money! Not 75%!

Thoughts?! For sure I got some thoughts Brooklyn Baby - could not possibly agree more. Shane ran away, lost every round wide, got dropped, barely landed a punch in retaliation...

...He done EXPOSED that Filippino ass, no ****in' question bro. Word. :smoke

The determining factor was Pacs speed and power , that's why Mosley would not pull the trigger. Mayweather of course would do better than Shane ... The main factor being if Mayweather can handle the power , cause he will get hit.

This is the problem with most people, you assume its just the speed and power, but there are other factors, there is the southpaw stance and also the size of Manny pacquiao..

its never easy being the taller guy fighting a guy that much shorter than you especially when that fighter knows how to bend his knees and stay small. you have to reach to find him and usally when you do he slips or rolls under your shot and comes back up with a counter.

its not just the speed and power of pacquiao its all of his tools, his foot work his head movement and the fact that he is a small guy in there that you have to find, and I know it sounds funny to say that cus Manny is right there in front of you, but what does that tell you? if you have to find him even when he is right in front of you he has alot more dimentions than just speed and power.
