    Its complicated.

PBF was linear champ and retired, not defending it for 2 years.

Cotto beats Mosley in close decision.

    Margo destroys Cotto

Mosley destroys Margo but it is revealed that Margo attempted to cheat and likely cheated in the Cotto fight.

Cotto has close fight with Clottey and is gifted his belt.

Pac delivers an ass kicking to Cotto and gets clottey's old belt.

Its a mess right now and I wouldnt personally give any championship. I consider PBF to have vacated it and so many guys have won and lost that its confusing. PBF/Pac vs Mosley/Berto will sort it out. I am still upset with Clottey loosing his belt because youre supposed to earn the belt and Cotto was outlanded. So now Pac has it and I think that Clottey would have been a harder fight for Pac. I think Clottey deserves another shot somewhere down the line.

I dont consider PW to be at welter anymore. He has to fight there again against a top guy to be in the mix.

They held it off because of Paul Williams who they thought would make a move back down to welterweight at some point in time.

Bernardo Osuna said that ... who's on the committee of the ring magazine !!

Shane dont care about a belt. He'll give up the belt in a heartbeat to fight PBF or Pac

It doesn't matter ... he's going to get screwed twice and he might not even get a chance to fight for welterweight supremacy ever again.

You guys need to go the Cyberboxingzone.com. They have the REAL lineal champions. The problem with the Ring is that is started in 2002 and now people consider it the be all end all. It is not!! I respect and read Ring Magazine, great writer and incite, but how are they the most Legitimate Championship organization. They may be the best right now, but they are not the be all end all. Cyberboxingzone is run by a research organization and has been doing tihs for years.

I could see a situation playing out where Mosley has a tough fight with Berto...lets say it is competitive decision win for Mosley. Ring will definitlely Move Mayweather up over Mosley and Pac-May will be a Ring title fight. If Berto wins then it is all mute..Pac-May will be for the Ring Title. I think Ring Magazine is pulling for Berto to beat Mosley.

I think the only way Mosley doesn't drop is if he destroys Berto..which I think is unlikely. And if even it that happened, i wouldn't be surprised if Ring Magazine made Pac-May a title fight. So I do think Ring will stakes its Welterweight title for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, as I think Mosley-Berto will be close, Mosley ekes it out, but loses his ranking. Don't get it twisted Ring Magazine wants a stake in the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. They want to be involved in history, they are running a business too. While they aren't as political as the other sanctioning bodies, they are still political none the less.

I don't understand how Pacquiao is #1 when he's only fought 1 ranked welterweight ... DLH wasn't top 10 ranked at welterweight ... and neither was Ricky Hatton ...

Yep. Look at the way they engineered a way for Wladimir Klitchsko to get his hands on the Ring belt without even letting their 'rankings commitee' have a say.

But to put it into context, the number two has only beaten two ranked welterweights in 8 years, the number three hasn't fought a ranked welterweight in 3 years and the number four just lost to the guy who is now number one....
