George has announced he is working with Shane on a full time basis.

What will Shane aim to change?
What will he bring to the table?
Any opinion if its a good switch?

IMO its a solid choice keeps him in UK and near his family. Hes back with Haye and also Frampton in gym so will have a good effect.

For me he needs a coach he will listen to and can trust in a time when things dont gp well in a fight. not 100% how it will work for george tbh (ie his career)

Groves needs to settle with a trainer and working on his weak areas. Stamina?

Just reads to mentally get back to a difference place. His skills have been exposed by two world champions on their A games.

I think at this stage, he either wins a well timed KO victory to beat a world champ or he'll always been a gatekeeper/challenger

I am a Groves fan but I don't like this appointment if I am honest.

I think he would be better suited to American coaches but he was adamant he would not relocate

Would of liked to see him with Abel Sanchez. I am too a big GG fan, But hes back with Haye and having Carl in gym mad just have afeel good effect if they all start winning.. needs some confidence back, the first froch fight he went in looking like he couldnt lose (or Believing)

Quite the stable McGuigan is building.

Well McGuigan seems to be a fairly solid S+C coach if nothing else which is what Groves needs. He also needs to learn to pace himself better. It's no good trying to fight like a flyweight at 168 unless you have superhuman stamina.

Can you trust and respect a trainer that's basically the same age as yourself?

Is he taking in too much? Seems to have done a good job with Frampton but going from 1 to 3 big name fighters so quickly

he also has young fighters on the way up like cacace too. but look at gallaghers gym, always full and sometimes a thriving gym can bring everyone through together like the ingles gym in the 90s

Hope it works and is part of a plan. I know it is deliberate at gallaghers, work as a team ala champs camp

Seem to remember teething problems as the gym grew. Wasn't the source of Murrays frustration that joe was taking other fighters on and not spending the same/enough time with him

Groves had the speed power and movement

Needs more work on his stamina and game plans

Look forward to seeing a new and improved groves

Can't wait to see what he does under Shane, Like GG said today he is still ranked number 3 in the WBC rankings.

Good times ahead hopefully for the lad

I don't really like Groves. It's make or break for him right now though if this goes bad he'll not progress to be a world champion.
