The WWE and the UFC have been in talks for years now. Not sure exactly what Vinces plans are but i know he's been very interested in them for some time. Maybe he's using his son as some kind of ambassador..

Shane is good at what he does but I dont think the UFC really needs him. Shane could help Strikeforce out IMO.

yea, I'm not sure the UFC needs more of a wwe face but I'm sure he could get alot of wwe fans to watch real fighting as opposed to whatever they do in wwe these days. The question is what kind of a role would he have?

He can pretend to be Phil Hayman and manage Brock in the UFC. If anyone wants to give Brock some grief Shane can hit em with a chair.

How could he help Strikeforce or any other MMA organization. I am not attacking your view. I just do not get it. That guy seems like a one trick pony who's brand of sports entertainment is only siuted for sports entertainment/Pro wrestling.

Plus: I simply find him disturbing looking.

Shane is a good buisness man just like his father is regardless of how you may see pro wrestling. Shane is good in TV production, Sales, Marketing, International Buisness etc. Ive always heard he is the guy who lands most of the major deals for the WWE and maybe he could help bring things that the UFC has wanted for awhile example HBO.

Understood! However the duties you outlined are essentially behind the scenes activities. Frankly that fellow does not seem like the behind the scenes type of person.

I have no reason to doubt his business accumen, it just seems like having a former sports entertainment/pro wrestling maven, front and center in the World's largest MMA company might not send the best mainstream message.

Regardless: Thanks for answering my question. For what it is worth. I was under the impression that Shane McMahon was just an actor, merely playing a scripted role as Vince's son. Who knows? I may end up being wrong about the guy on more than one front.

The McMahon family are legends in the history of "promotion" of "sport". If anyone can succeed in bringing a product to the mainstream irrespective of what that product is its Shane and Vince McMahon.

Just to reply to you na Shane is a behind the scenes guy for the most part. From about 99-01 he was on screen every week along with the entire McMahon family. However I understand since he has cut back significantly on being on screen just maybe once or twice a year sometimes none.
