People still bringing up the Cotto/Mosley fight which is dumb. Styles make fights and Shane has the much better style to fight Margarito.

Dont think so, with Mayorga who has a similar style in terms of being wide with his shots and slow and telegraphing it still took Shane 12 full rounds to pull it out, infact Shane was behind in manys eyes at the time it was stopped, so that means a guy like Mayorga was possibly outboxing the Boxer?

Margarito who is wide, and does telegraph has a much more solid chin, he is in much better shape and takes care of his body, doesnt smoke or drink etc.... he has better footwork, a better work rate, great stamina Shane is getting stopped tomorrow.

Why do you view him as a poor mans Margorito (very poor I hope-less endurance) When in shape Margor.. WOW.:pimp

Shane can do well if he turns the clock back. But did he show any signs of being capable of this in the Mayorga fight(apart from the last 10 secs)?
I dont think at this stage in his career he can avoid Margarito`s shots in the mid rounds and see him staying on his stool around 9 or 10.

    Spot on.

---- To my credit I said Shane had a chance, he is Shane.

But can safely admit the KO surprised me.

Well I thought it would be a left-hook to the body if Shane stopped him but turned out it was the left-hook to the head. I was glad Shane made that investment to the body. I thought he would^

Thanx man. Some thought I was a bit crazy like when I picked Pac-man over ODLH and B-hop over Pavlik but damn, I was validated again. I am really happy for Shane.:happy

I also missed Pac over DLH but I was with you on picking Old man BHOP over the rather predictable Pavlik.

I couldn't let myself pick Shane by KO because all though I thought Margo's chin would crack soon, I just didn't know if it would this quick. I think I posted he was going to lose his next fight quite a while back and also probably get KO'd within 3 more fights. Glad it happened last nite!

I had the same feeling about Shane and B-hop's fights. Very similiar and it indeed ended up that way. Well missing Pac/ODLH is not travesty when you consider ODLH was supposed to be coming in close to 160 rather than 147. That was my only concern when I picked Pac but soon as I heard ODLH had hardly gained any weight I knew he was in trouble.
