Mayweather beat the best in every division from 130-155 pounds. The only champion he did not beat was the great Kostya Tyzu who was incapacitated with injury when Floyd was at 140 pounds. His resume stands up to scrutiny defeating all the major champions and fighters in his era. I can understand some people not liking him as a man and that is their prerogative but they lose credibility when the question his boxing record or that he was maneuvered. Personally I did not like Sugar Ray Leonard as a man however I absolutely would not find fault with his record or deny his status as one of greatest ever. He got victories over my heroes like Duran, Benitez, Hearns, Ayub Kalule and Hagler but I will never deny his accomplishments. Some people and I am not saying you are one of them get distracted by their dislike of Floyd.

116-112 - 115-113 for Mayweather. Always and forever. But that's not what's being discussed here you simpleton.

PAC lost so he is clearly not the better fighter. If we are honest Marquez is a better fighter than Pacquiao!

We get alot of what we know about previous era's from news articles and magazines. This is not a new concept nor is it false. I also can recognize a once in a generation talent like PBF when I see one. A guy who virtually had no weaknesses in his prime and who was a stylistic terror for damn near every fighter in history. Don't get mad at me for telling you like it is and you don't like it.

My view is that he's an ATG fighter and HOF and has a very good case for being the best of his generation(despite some of the ugly politics and favoritism that's benefited him) in the 2nd half fought in an extremely ugly and non-fan friendly manner. In recent years I've come to really appreciate and enjoy the first half of his career and am willing to give him a lot more credit than I would have as a teenager 10 or so years ago and a young adult. My main beef in this thread is with fanboys who seem to think that he faced opposition that couldn't have beaten him when they were fresher...

You think it's a forgone conclusion that he beats a fresher DLH despite the fact that he struggled with the one who was at the end of the road. You're a hero-worshiping fanboy with an unhealthy fixation over a man despite being in your early-mid 30s. That's pure delusion.

What part of PBF didn't struggle with Oscar do you not understand. Was it a landslide 12-0 clinic like PBF-JMM no, but it was not a struggle. PBF-Maidana 1 was a struggle PBF-JLC 1 was a struggle PBF-Oscar was not a struggle learn the difference.

Oscar won 4-5 rounds. That's hardly an easy win for Mayweather.

The thing is he didn't win 5 rounds you really have to struggle to say he won 4 rounds that fight had 9-3 written all over it.

I watched the first half of his career as well as the 2nd half of his career and without a doubt is the best fighter of his generation and hall of famer. He may or may not be The Best Ever as he claims but the truth is that he is in the equation or in the argument when this topic is raised. I was also was privileged to see him fight live to see how outstanding he was. If he was not fan friendly why did his popularity increase even more in the 2nd half of his career when he became his own promoter and made more money than any other boxer ever and more money than other athletes? I think the 2 guys you think could have beaten him when they were fresher are Oscar and Shane Mosley. As good as they were they could never have beaten him. This is not a fan boy talking rather it’s because he was more talented than them talented as these two were. It might surprise you to know that the opportunity to fight him when these 2 were allegedly fresher was there but the management of Mosley and Oscar did not want it. Floyd and Mosley could have fought at Lightweight but Mosley did not want it came up with bogus dental issue. Top Rank did not want to make the fight when they had Oscar and Floyd even though Floyd was pushing for it back then. In any event both Mosley and Oscar were coming of big victories over Margarito and Mayorga when the fought Floyd. Truth of the matter was he schooled them though they were naturally bigger apparently stronger guys. I use the word apparently because people sometimes don’t realize how physically strong Floyd is.

Nothing many of us didnt already know. I mean a pretty much shot Oscar gave Prime FlIVd a good fight ffs! This fight is the biggest indictment on FlIVds claim to his all time status.

Lotta respect for both of them in their prime I think it would be ugly and a tough decision based on whether or not you favor Oscar making the fight or Floyd ultimately connecting less shots at a higher percentage. I think Floyd would have enough pop to frustrate him but he may shoulder roll himself into a decision loss, Even fast Floyd could be put on the ropes because he doesn’t like getting hit

He owned Tito for the majority of that fight, and I hated every second of it
