The fight I always wanted to see.

Obviously, I think you mean prime Tito vs prime Shane, because we obviously know the winner in their current forms..

I think Shane would've beat Tito in a close war.

I always had a hard time betting against Tito, but I guess if you had to pick one fighter that could beat him, that might be Shane.

For the record, I voted for this fight as a draw.

Please do not forget to vote on the poll. Thanks.

Watch a young Mosley outbox prime Chavez in sparring (yes sparring, but still).

    Shane wins a close UD.

Shane has about the same (maybe slightly more) skill level as Oscar.

    And slightly more balls.

And you saw what oscar did to Tito.

So look for Shane by a wide UD or maybe stoppage.

To close a call to get a consensus on....for me it would have a modern classic if it ever had happened.

    But a few points...

    * Shane is not Oscar..He is physically more impressive but not as skilled. He has never showed the kind of defensive ability or mobility that Hoya used against Tito. They are just different fighters.

    * Shane fits the skilled brawler mould more...I tend to think Tito would hit him hard and fairly often. Shane has the proven chin to weather this..but as also showed in the Forrest fight he can get a bit gunshy once he gets stung, which IMO completely changed Mosley for a couple of years to a timid one punch at a time bomber..rather then the fearless combo puncher he was before that fight.

    * I notice a worrying trend in recent threads about this topic to in some way use the Margarito fight as a measuring stick for this one..Tito and Margarito are about the same size but thats where the comparison end..and I dont think its that hard to see.

Ive leant toward Tito in the past...Rangy with power is a good thing to have against Shane. Either way its gonna be a war.

I think Shane's warrior mentality would get him in trouble with Tito. Shane never learned to shy away from a brawl, and Tito is a great offensive fighter. It's true that Shane's speed is miles ahead of Tito, but Shane is also defensively challenged, so Tito would always be in the fight. I think Felix's power would take a toll on Shane in the later rounds and give him the edge. Tito in a very close decision, but it could go either way at WW. Tito by clear decision at 154.

At 154 Tito would've smashed Mosley much the same way he did with Mayorga... at 147 maybe Mosley has a shot.

I think Mosley beats him at 147 but at 154 and over I think Trinidad would have a good chance at stopping Mosley. Would have been a great fight is Mosley could have got past Winky but I guess coming off the juice didn't help him one bit.

When I was making this thread, I actually thought more people would lean towards Tito. Tito at his prime seemed unbeatable at 140 lbs., 147 lbs., and at 154 lbs. I can't see Shane knocking out Tito without the same vision of Tito knocking out Shane. Shane is quick, but he's also in front of you most of the time. But Tito also never fought a quick strong fighter like Shane. Could Shane have pushed this fight through 12 rounds and get a decision?

Mosley by UD, a close yet clear UD is my pick. Very tough fight for both guys, fight of the year for sure, too bad it didn't happen.
