only FLOYD could have beaten Pea

    Pea would UD Mosley easily.

And Pernell wasn't even a 35 pounder in 1993. What the fk is this thread?

The man was a WW at that time.

Whitaker had all he could handle with Roger Mayweather.
Got knocked down in the fifth, and hurt numerous times.
From a fighter coming from a 2 rd demolition by Chavez 2 years earlier, then a 6 rd knockout by Pendleton.

Mosley would outwork him over 12.

Whitaker had a better workrate than Mosley, in addition to being a better and much smarter boxer.

Despite his chin, Roger Mayweather was better than anyone Mosley fought at 135 anyway.

Mosley was very good at 135 but Whitaker was great. Whitaker too skilled for Shane who loses a lopsided decision, i can see Shane scoring a knockdown if Sweet Pea gets careless but other than that i dont see Shane having much success against Whitaker's tricky slick style. With all that said it would be a very interesting fight to watch.

Whitaker lost 4 rds to Pendleton at lightweight.
5 against an 32 year old, ageing featherweight Azumah Nelson.

Mosley at lightweight is better than them by miles.
He would give Pernell zero respect and would walk through his punches to land his own bombs.

For all his qualities, Pernell couldn't punch for ****.

This one would go down to the wire man Mosley too strong for Sweet Pea. I think Sweet Pea takes it, but by SD. The footwork usually made up for Mosley not having a proper jab, but up close I think Mosley would give Sweet Pea problems. Thing is Whitaker wouldn't let Mosley in close very much, but Mosley was fast enough to catch Whitaker at least once. Sweet Pea would outbox him from a distance, but a prime Mosley still challenging for anyone to keep at bay. Very few would beat 135 Mosley infighting too.

The good thing about Pea is, he at least took on all comers, and didn't wait for them to get old/ out of their prime/ shopworn....

Funny, because Whitaker actually buzzed Chavez a few times. Why the Hell else do you think Chavez stopped rushing in after awhile?

    Goddamn know-nothings, I swear.

    Yeah ?

How many times did he buzz Azumah ?
He ran all day long against a 32 year old former featherweight, and still lost 5 rds.

Huh? Whitaker lost rounds to guys who were far lesser fighters than Mosley.
