I agree with this to a certain extent. He clearly wants to completely unify 160, but his team has also said he only has a couple of years left. I'd much rather see him take on some challenges at higher weights and really leave his mark on the sport. Hopefully he can completely clean out 160 this year (Jacobs, Saunders, Canelo for that RING) and then finish up his career at 168+ in 2018.

Certainly not from me. What's more, there is a possibility in that happening. Good fight if it happens.

Now all of a sudden Kovalev isn't a killer and not the best at 175...pathetic. Before the fight was signed Ward will never fight Kovalev and Kovalev would starch him in 1. After the fight and Ward wins now Kovalev isn't that killer and may not be the best and Ward must fight A B or C, it never ends.

I'm pretty sure if Ward actually won the fight clearly he'd get more credit. The problem was 75 percent of viewers thought Kovalev won. It was borderline robbery. Not a total robbery, but it was getting to that territory.

Bull**** I wouldn't hold it against him because the division is so weak. Does anyone hold it against Crawford for leaving 135 and moving on o 140? GGG facing DeGale at 168 is better than anything he can do at 160 IMO.

The last time I checked he did win the fight.:deal: With that said it was a close fight that could have gone either way.

All I can say is you're in the minority here.

Crawford left 135 to keep on living and breathing. He's far too big for 135 long term. Golovkin is a normal sized MW. With no need to move up because he's not big for 160.

Eh? Not all fans think the same. I picked Ward to win. Kov is a very good fighter, entertaining too and good for boxing but he's not some terror. I never seen him as that. BHop at 50 went 12 rounds with him. He might be the best but there are other fighters looking the goods. I want Ward to rematch Kov so the division can move on. And of course Ward must fight a,b,c if he beats Kov. That's what champs do right? Fight the top guys? Well, that's how it used to be. Ward can win in rematch and retire. No issue with any boxer leaving the sport. I just want to see some great fights at lhw. I don't want Ward to hold it hostage.

I was referring to the larger viewing audience. Not just the 3 judges.

I feel you. I want a rematch as well but Ward may want to retire. He never really seemed to love the sport IMO the long layoff stole his hunger.

Crawford left a weak division in order to face bigger and better challenges period. GGG hits like a LHW and KOS HWs in sparring with ATG power so moving up shouldn't be a problem right? Especially since he was willing to face both JCC Jr and Froch at 168.

who says he won't face de gale after cleaning out 160, your acting like he has to do it right now for some reason. he'll move up to 168 when he has cleaned out 160, why is that so hard for you to understand?

I still think Golovkin should call his bluff. He ain't making 10-15 mill anywhere else. It's a win-win for him.
