The problem is he picks and chooses when he wants to unify. It's bull****. He'll take step aside money for the right amount willing to fight PBF at 154 dragging up a career WW in Brook to fight at the full MW limit and would go to 168 for both JCC Jr an Froch, he's full of ****. He says he wants to unify 160 only when it's convenient and to mask the pathetic opposition at 160 instead of seeking out a new division and daring to be great.

That's not an excuse. That's a statement of fact.

Retiring at this stage after that fight would do his legacy no good. But yeah, it's a dangerous sport to be in if you're not committed. For the record I had him losing. I think he can improve in a rematch but I also think Kovalev can too. I'll class the winner of fight 2 as the best at 175 but I will expect them to accommodate the best of the rest. To me Ward is a turn off. He doesn't fight enough, his style is boring, his personality is off putting and aKov win will better serve the division. We need a decision from him. Sh!t or get off the pot and all that jazz.

Can you not see that Golovkin saw Froch and JCC as much more lucrative versions of Barrera and Brand?

We both know neither Carl or Julio were on Andre's level but would have been financially rewarding fights to acclimatise to the weight. By Ward fan's logic this should of been totally fine considering just how much praise they gave their guy for taking an easier route to get ready for Kovalev.

To me taking on the top guy within a year of coming back from a long layoff is immediate. You pussies are reaching hard to defend the bum killer here. I used to like ggg but he has no balls face it

Well said, I actually wouldn't mind seeing him in with Charlo if he was to move up to 160lbs either. Its fair to say this isn't the golden era for middle weight these days but look at Hopkins and Monzon they didn't have an ATG list of fighters to face at the weight either.

I've been watching boxing for 30 years I'm not sure what you think makes you such an authority but you can
take your respectful cool guy and shove his wanker up your behind. I don't have man crushes on fighters like you I like to see them take on real challenges. It's a complete joke you saying kovalev is no killer yet you give credit to ggg for fighting nothing but pure cans

The only fact is that ggg doesn't have a live body on his resume he's the Ronda rousey of boxing

The level of bias from some posters indicate that this is clearly a race thing. Sure Golovkin's resume isn't particularly impressive but the way some of you dismiss all mitigating circumstances really shows a base level of prejudice.

Has he been naive at points in his career? You bet. From signing with Universum to taking step aside money in the understanding that Canelo would fight him next he's been played for a fool by fighters reluctant to lace them up with him but to denigrate him the way some of these idiots do is absurd.

You don't think he's any good? Fine, but your favourite fighter around that weight class evidently disagrees.

I'm excited for Golovkin to break Bernard Hopkins record for consecutive Middleweight defenses.
