your obviously a little sensative becuase your the only person who interpreted me posting this interview as me using it in a way to slight margarito... my first post didnt even have anything to do with paul williams... and on top of that if margarito had a video saying shane is going to be a more difficult fight than paul williams or cotto i would have posted that as well..

    im impartial....

Margarito has looked extremely slow and lumbering in his last two outings, WWM. It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility for Mosley to pile up enough rounds to pull the upset - though like I said in the first post in your thread; it will be easier said than done. Berto on the other hand is a young cat with great handspeed and fast twitch reflexes. Margarito presents a very unique set of problems, but considering Mosley's incredible toughness and durability and Margarito's aforementioned slowness and predictability I believe Mosley sincerely believes he has the easier fight.
With the correct gameplan and execution Mosley has a way to win against Margarito. Against Berto, Mosley may have felt he would have to match the kid's speed and youth, and that's something that gave him trouble against Cotto - a guy Mosley would have clearly showed speed and timing superiority over in the past. Those aspects of Shane's game are dying or dead. He'll always be gritty enough for the Margarito's of the world in his mind. People forget; Shane has never been stopped. EVER. Not in the amateurs, not in the pros.

I wonder how/if the feeling of "your opponent has an easier style (supposedly)" has a big impact on a fighters weakness.... like since mosley said this would this mean that his confidence is higher than if he was fighting berto?

I have said that all along, Berto's handspeed would cause Mosley alot of touble. Margo is going to stand right in front of Shane throwing wide shots and allow Shane to use his speed.

It's an interesting question, WWM. I would say it probably varies. What do you think?

i dont know its weird..... i feel like shane going into the fight may have some kind of air of confidence going into the fight.... like he might have the upper hand on margarito

on the other hand if he was going against berto or something there might be some feeling deep down inside then its going to be a lot harder then it comes off to be....

to me thats such a bold statement to make... but maybe shane will show us something about margarito than none of us know yet...

as much as we know the closest thing to a skilled boxer we have seen margo in the ring with is cotto and he doesnt have half the exp shane has... esp aginst bigger opponents.. itll be an extremely interesting matchup

I see his point about Berto and agree with him. He shouldn't go after a young fast boxer at this point. He should go after the dangerous but considerably slower Margarito. This is going to be a ****en outrageous war but I am very nervous for Shane. I think Shane at his prime would ko Margarito but today it's something else. But Shane can bang and can go the twelve. I just hope he sticks to a gameplan and doesn't get to cocky against someone that throws some great body punches. May the best man win. :good

That makes sense. I think you're on to something. I'm leaning that way myself.

Let's not forget about Clottey who was doing amazingly well before he hurt his hand. Clottey's timing shows how Margarito can be beat. And of course Williams.

lmao wow... just in watching the first 2 rounds of clottey vs marg my excitement of this fight has raised a lot...

shane is taller & longer than clottey... defense isnt as good but he's faster and stronger....

this fight might be the fight of the year
