I find it hard to believe that Mayweather doesnt want to fight the champion in his weight class. Whats the point of fighting if you dont want to be champ?

He wants a check. A few months ago, he even said he'd fight Pac at 140 or around there and everyone thought he was insane.

Kellerman is a dick. Mosley and Hopkins were stupid.

PBF has to fight the winner of Pacman v Cotto. Yes Shane had a great win v margarito but the world will wanna see Pacman or Cotto v PBF. It will look bad if neither fights PBF Next.

Sugar Shane deserves a big fight but not next. If Pacman wins and doesnt fight PBF this sport will will get so much stick.

This was a lil' WWE-ish. Perhaps staged for the effect. Can you say ka-ching!

Mosley is a very tough fight for Cherry and he knows it. He bullied Marquez because the guy was just too small, simple. In the past, guys that were big and could impose themselves on PBF as well as having good skills gave him trouble - Castillo, DLH. Sugar Shane is faster, more disciplined and more powerful than them both and would step into the ring at 160 against PBF, and he'd have to hit Mosley with the ringpost to stun him.

If cherry fights Mosley, then big props to him for taking his first real fight in a long time, especially considering how Mosley refused him. He doesn't really have anywhere else to run now.

Mosley wants a mega-bucks fight real bad. What better way to do it than in front of a camera where every boxing fan worlwide is watching.

gotta love shane. mayweather needs to fight him, the problem is, he won't. floyd will no longer take a fight that he doesn't have every advantage in. he wont risk losing and he won't take a fight in which he isn't assured a victory. i'm not saying i think mosley can beat floyd (although i think he has a pretty decent shot), i'm just saying that mosley has a better shot than pac. mark my words, pbf will fight pac next because not only is pac the bigger draw and is the cash cow in boxing currently, but he's another smaller guy would have to sacrifice every advantage to fight mayweather.

floyd would beat pac. i think that's pretty clear. pac is the most logical next step for floyd, and face it, the guy's an opportunist. that fight will happen before pbf mosley, if pbf mosley happens at all.

If he were to beat Mosley he would cement his ATG status. In my opinion he would surpass DLH. Mosley is physically superior to PBF so he will have to win on skill, if he beats Mosley then nobody will question that he is the best in boxing.

Pacman is good but once again hes moving up in weight and is a bit small. Also he might not make it past Cotto. Mayweathers best fight right now is Mosley, why wait for Pacman when he can secure a fight for early 2010? And then after that fight Pacman would have to take the long lay off, it would benefit Mayweather. On the other hand it could be Cotto who wins and I honestly don't think anyone wants to see Cotto vs Mayweather.

i agree. i actually said that while it was happening. who knows, though. mosley was standing right there and we all know how bad he wants to fight pbf.

the only guy i really think can beat floyd is paul williams. he just has that same freakish advantage that floyd generally has. paul is a ridiculously tall, rangy, talented fighter while floyd is obviously more talented but lacks that ridiculous size, workrate, and physical freakishness that paul brings to the table. mosley pbf would be awesome to see, but i really think the only test for floyd right now would be pw.

too bad it will never ****in happen... :-(

Pacman is recognised as the #1 P4P fighter in the world. I like Shane, i really do but the best thing for the sport would be for PBF to face the winner of Pacman v Cotto next. If Pacman wins the hype and call for him to fight PBF will be huge. If the didnt happen the media and all those who ridicule this sport will be out in force. It wouldnt matter if PBF was facing a great fighter in 'Sugar' Shane as all you would hear is 'Boxing once again has the two best fighters avoiding each other'. Even if cotto wins he should be facing PBF as a cotto win would shoot him to super stardom and people would want the man who beat Pacman to face PBF. Mosley will have to wait. Its harsh on him but for now we just need some good logical booking. Before last night it was all set up for the winner of PBF v JMM to face the winner of Pacman v Cotto. It must stay this way!!
