During a conference call today, WBA welterweight champion Sugar Shane Mosley lashed out at a reporter who asked him to compare how he feels now compared to how he felt in 2003 when he allegedly took a performance enhancing substance.

“That’s a stupid question that you’re asking me because I never really…I never did that stuff,” said Shane. I was never on it the way like that. I’ve always been a clean fighter. Actually I feel good and I’ve been feeling good. I’ve been knocking out everybody since 2003 and before 2003. I don’t feel like I should be condemned for something that I never tested positive at all. I just told the truth of what happened because the truth was brought to me by the federal people that took me to court or that brought me up as a witness, that brought me in as a witness and the truth was revealed to me there. So, this man (Victor Conte/BALCO Labs) that I had seen one time in my whole entire life, at the deposition was the second time I’ve seen him, it’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous that now the media wants to make me the ‘poster boy of steroids’ when I don’t even remember [taking] that stuff, so if you guys want to continue to think that or put that out there ’so be it’ you know, you’ve got to hear the truth.”

I'm sure the people who believe Pacquiao needs a 30 day window for drug testing because it will mentally affect him, will also believe these statements from Shane.

Mosley needs to keep his mouth shut regarding 2003.

I like Mosley, but what is the occasion for a boxer who is training for a fight to put a needle in his arm and inject substance into his bloodstream? How can it be possible that someone is putting an needle in your arm and you don't know whats being injected into you? You don't need a needle for vitamins and minerals....

He actually injected the needle into his stomach, several times. He also admitted to taking subtances(which turned out to be designer steroids) that he was told to say was "flaxseed oil". He admitted that he knew it wasn't flaxseed oil and it was probably "something else".

i believe now what i always did: he knew he was taking EPO but not what EPO was. still it's up to him to ask the right questions and he didn't. he's moved on from that

So you think a professional athlete, whose investment rests on the health and well being of his body, would inject EPO into his stomach on numerous occasions, admit knowing it was EPO... but not what EPO did...

    HAHAHAHAHA!

    RIIIIIIIGHT.

"Here inject this stuff into my stomach. Whats it called again? EPO huh? No, wait wait wait, dont tell me what it does, I want it to be a surprise..."

He also said in the transcript that he only took it once which is a damn lie. They confiscated a calender at Conte's lab which had all of the DATES (plural, as in more than one) Shane took EPO injections.

i think that's part of why he did it...he knew it wasn't legit but the less he knew the better. he knew it wasn't vitamins but if he never asked if it was steroids, he could deny he knowlingly roided up

Shane needs to give up the Ghost, everyone know Conte supplied him with roids like Bonds, Giambi, Sheffield. Just admit it and move on, him denying this is making me dislike him greatly.

Ask this question to yourself would you take anything as a grown man and not know wth you are taking.

    That excuse is weak.

agreed, it is a weak excuse. the fact that shane is a nice guy and a great boxer makes me want to ignore it but if floyd did it, would i be so forgiving? probably not

who really cares...its not like Shane is superman because of a few injections in '03...it doesn't AUTOMATICALLY make you a better fighter...maybe he recooperated a little quicker back then after training...maybe a lil more intensity...it has no bearing on him as a fighter now...MOVE ON.
