The real boxing understands what Mosley talks about.
Its not just the roll its other twists and turns, the feet position.
With Mayweather against an undersized but great fighter like Marquez, his height and reach were a major reason why Marquez could'nt get anything going.
When Marquez would find the angle to get off with Mayweather shoulder rolling, Mayweather would take a long step back, and even with Mayweather unable to angle out, he was so out of reach from Marquez who has the much shorter arms and legs.

Mayweather's advantages can be nullified, but it would take a fighter with real physical advantages. Height and reach and or a significant strenghth advantage along with real skill.
Mayweather just has'nt been facing those fighters to be tested.
I've always said that there is a reason why Mayweather retired when Margarito and Paul Williams were atop the Welterweight division.

 

I'm not going to say anything in reference to p dub because I like him and out of respect for his current situaion, but Margarito, had height and reach, but his skills were a joke. One of the the slowest and easiest to hit fighters ever. He just had an incredible beard and could wear down lesser fighters or those with stamina issues, but he would've been nothing more than mitt workout for Floyd.

Didn't read the article but it's pretty obvious that it's not just the shoulder roll other wise everybody would just do the shoulder roll and be nearly impossible to hit.

Floyd has some of the best defenses in boxing and it's called ducking, dodging, vacation, losing his urge to fight, we not fighting to see who the best is, you live to far to fight, my health come first, who are you. You can't hit what's not there.

 

margo doesnt load (no pun intended), so there is no punch to roll. he would be touching floyd all thru out 12 rounds.

he has granite chin and with pedjr featherfisted attack, margo could basically spend all his energy purely on offense.

look what happened to pac after 12 rounds with margo and pac has the power to derail margo in his tracks.

it would be a close fight and if pedjr wins, he would be beaten up as well.

 

some of floyds haters think all he does is the shoulder roll and thats why they claim certain south paws ( paq- lara ) would beat him which is laughable. i always tell them thats only ONE aspect of his defense.. floyd has a more accurate offense against south paws and he attacks more

There are a couple posters on here that claim thats all he does, its really no used trying to explain anything boxing related to them because thet proves how little they know and confirms my opinion that they truly havent a clue what their eyes are seeing in the ring.

even coming from ssm (future hos) they will still deny it and say his shoulder roll won work ..

LOL, the thought of Margo being a real threat is a joke. Floyd could easily step into Margo's looping punches and eat him up on the inside or counter him all night. Floyd has the footwork, speed and Ring IQ to make Margo look like a fool. Only thing Margo ever had for him was a chin and loaded gloves
