Winky had legit gripes in both the Vargas and Taylor fights. If you started a poll, the majority of people would say that Winky won both fights. I had Winky winning 7-5 against Vargas and i was being generous. I could possibly see a draw but there is no way Vargas won 7 rounds in that fight. And a lot of "experts" thought Winky did enough against Taylor.

I lost some respect for Winky when he acted surprised by the Hopkins scorecards. He KNEW he lost that fight and was clearly outclassed.

Now, what is ole Winky doing?

Winky is a guy who fought and defeated big names, while Forrest fame comes from Mosley and only Mosley.

Taylor probablly deserved the loss but Vargas-Wright is a tossup Winky won no more then 7 rounds. I watched it twice scored first a draw,2nd 1 point Vargas.

what a dumb poll. But anyways about those 4 fights.... The first fight with Forrest I really feel some type of way about because I honestly think that if that headbutt didnt happen, mosley would have won that fight. He was owning forrest the first couple of rounds and after that clash, i dunno, that was the ONLY time I have ever seen Shane hurt and I am sure many others here agree. That being said, the Winky fight shouldnt have happened, but Shane being the competitive spirit that he was, did it anyways. 154 is just not his weight, and I was so happy that he returned to 147. He looked great against collazo and cotto. The 2nd wright fight he did a lot better in.

man what sweetness that was. Thats why i am fans of the crude punchers. Mayorga was a beast at 147 thought and he did beat spinks imo.

You got it all wrong Winky/Taylor was close but Winky/Vargas was a clear robbery IMO. If Winky was as well known back then as he is now he would have won a comfortable UD.

winky vargas was a damn close fight dont get it messed up. Way closer than taylor winky, and i thought taylor won that fight. Winky had a chance to beat taylor too in that last round, but we all saw what he decided to do instead of fight. That cost him big time.

Now you are being persuaded by popular media and HBO. The reason Winky boxed the 12th round was because he was feeling JT's power in the 10th and 11th rounds. Watch those rounds again and you will see what i'm talking about. JT's punches moved Winky. And Winky's a warrior for coming forward the whole fight and running into those shots. The guy's got incredible heart. He chased down Hopkins too. The man doesn't back down.

I agree. Vargas won 6 rounds AT BEST and that's how I scored the fight. It could easily have been 7-5 or 8-4 for Winky.
I also thought Winky beat Taylor. And Taylor landed nothing in the 12th.
But Hopkins was far from outclassing Winky. It was a very close fight. I personally had 7-5 for Hopkins, like most did.
