But if he's only ranked 5th at flyweight right now, then how would he make it into the top 20 boxers at any weight over the last 13 years....

Wonjongkam is a good technician, nothing special. Overrated due to his padded record in Thailand, but in reality no better than any of the top guys for the past few years at Fly, in fact a few notches below the very best.

I think Tapia was a better fighter p4p, just my opinion.

I actually think Wonjongkam is pretty underrated, nobody talks about him for him to be rated. Not in great terms, that would be ludicrous, but just generally as a fighter today he's underrated

His record is padded, but so are many. He's a skilled fighter, and I enjoyed his fights with Naito.

All Time: Shane Mosley is top 100ish.

Since 1995, Shane Mosley is a top 5 pound for pounder.

His legacy is at lightweight where he is a top 12 guy all time.

The fights with Viper are a "styles make fights" type deal (See Forrest-Mayorga).

The fights with Winky are really just a case of Shane, a natural 135-147 guy fighting a natural 154-160 fighter. Size was the difference, especially in the rematch.

When Shane was in his prime, he could beat any man in history within 135-147 and his prime was right in the middle of the era we are talking about.

thats the stigma fighters carry when they dont try to crack the majors.

these fighters arent' underrated' because it's their choice whether to find out how good they are or not.

I would take Shane above Tito and definitely above Calzaghe.

Don't tell me, you are a Pavlik fan lol. Taking Shane over Tito is so comical to me lol. People might side with you on taking Shane over Cal because of the bias towards Cal, but Shane is not in Cal's class. Shane has too many flaws for me to take him over Calzaghe.

I really am shocked at how many people share this view. Who the **** did Shane Mosley beat at lightweight that has made people rate him an ATG lightweight?!?! His resume at 135 is ****! Not even pretty poor, it's garbage!!! He beat Holiday, who was pretty good, then a succession of journeymen and over-the-hill veterans. Where is the evidence that he was a great lightweight? This is like when people say Hamed was a great featherweight - how can this be thought when these guys never beat any strong opposition in their division?

When Shane was in his prime, he could beat any man in history within 135-147

Ridiculous comment, really ridiculous, no offence. You either have very little knowledge of the history of those divisions, or are just insanely bias.

    Roberto Duran, Pernell Whitaker?
Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Emile Griffith, Jose Napoles?

And that's just from the 1970s onwards, there are plenty plenty more that Mosley would have no chance against.

VERNON FORREST beat him TWICE at 147, but he could beat Leonard or Robinson?! :patsch Good one.

No, Tapia did most of his good work in the ring after his drug problems became well-known to the public (the 3 year hiatus from the sport).
