Shane Mosley says Mayweather hits as hard as Canelo

Vargas said Trinidad everytime he got by him it felt like he was being hit with a baseball bat! He implied that his wraps were dodgy in his fight too.

 

That was funny. It's like he totally expected Forrest to be feather fisted.

 

Luckily for me, I have never been hit by any of these fighters but, I do believe Mayweather hits a lot harder than most people give him credit for. Mayweather may not knock you out with 1 punch, but he stuns with his 3 4 punches when he throws and lands them. Over the course of a fight, i would believe that this may be worse to defend against.

 

I've always been of the opinion that Canelo's power is way overated also. And strangely it was after the Mosley fight that I came to my opinion. He hit Mosley with bombs in that fight in every round, and Mosley kept coming, a faded Mosley at that. To Mosley's credit, he does have an iron chin, but still, for Canelo to be this power puncher I say way overrated.

 

Floyd has solid power.

When guys are willing to come trade with him, he can usually hurt them

First of all, they weren't sucker punches. Cortez called the fight back on and both fighters were aware. It was just stupid on Ortiz's part to apologize again, even though his first was already accepted by Mayweather, when the fight was called back on.

Second of all, I can use Ortiz as an example because he walked through Andre Berto, who has power in both hands, without any problems. Berto did drop him, but he wasn't able to earn Ortiz's respect with his punches. Mayweather was able to earn Ortiz's respect immediately with his punches and had stunned him with some good shots.

I didn't even have the KO in mind to be honest, but it's still not Mayweather or Ortiz's fault that Cortez called time in then looked away. That's Cortez's fault. If you would actually read the post and not see Ortiz and automatically assume I was using the KO as the example, maybe this conversation could go somewhere more interesting.
